How is your business going to find clients/customer in a country where nobody has a job? Where are you going to access start-up capital in a country where nobody is lending? 60% of businesses fail, so even if you somehow do access capital, you might just end up laden with debt and with a crumbling business.

We've got a bad image abroad that we just can't seem to shake off and it hurts our credibility and opportunities on the global marketplace. Obviously governnent-sponsored tourism campaigns had a lot to do with shaping the image of Spain as a toros y flamenco cheap and sunny holiday destination abroad (which hurts Spain's credibility as a "serious nation"), part of it comes from old Black Legend stereotypes and 19th century romanticism, and part of it is plain old ignorance (people who unironically think Spanish is indigenous to the New World and shit like that).

There's no growth left in the toros y flamenco route but tbe government still seemed hell bent on pushing it as part of our "Spain brand" so things will have to change up there if we want a strong policy to reverse this trend.

Today, for example, any historical victories or achievements that Spain did in the past are automatically belittled by anyone, because, given the caricature that we are internationally, it would be impossible that such a laughable people ever achieved anything of magnitude or did anything impressive, or even gave birth to brave and intelligent men, it would crumble their narrative, everything needs to be automatically downgraded or excused with bullshit and feelgood rationalization such as, "hurr durr Spain was shit militarily you just conquered the primitive Native Americans because muh gunpowder", when guns were barely even used and most conquistadors fought with a sword and a rodela, and by the time we were conquering México our troops in Europe defeated the biggest military power in Europe, France, during the Italian wars, and the Tercios were steamrolling over Europe and stopping the Ottomans at Lepanto.
