So yeah, when Soviet union started to dissolving, conflict arise anew, and there was big demonstrations with claims of independency like within all of 15 republics in the union. in 90 20 january they send pacifying forces, i take it was Gorbachov's decision. Ayways, they killed a lot of armless people there was huge casualties among ordinary people. and 20th january is national mourning day here. This is probably biggest reason of anti russian atmosphere here. Now between 90-93 there was war betwen us and armenia about nagorno kharakh status and it is still not solved. basically russia holds both of us on leash againts each other selling arms to us and giving mostly for free to them balancing powers so we just skirmish each other.

As of today, the elites of this country and most of administartive, financial centers are Russian leaning (hell, russian controlled). If you'll go to center of Baki you'll mostly see and hear russian speaking people and russified people, oбpyceвшиe.

So, yeah, we are in the middle of fucking nothing for more than 20 years.
