Universities have different problems because of the zots. There are some actual really good uni's in cities like Cape Town and Johannesburg but black poor students have started protesting a fees must fall thing. They basically riot and cause havoc and they even burnt down a library - IN ORDER TO GET AN EDUCATION??? I'm result all of the students had to leave university during their exams and now the whole school year has been pushed forward a few months.

This is Durban where I live. I'll answer from the perspective of a White slightly above middle class male. So basically in most cities public transport is completely unused by white people, only exception is the Gautrain which is really new. Internet is actually pretty solid depending on area, I get speeds of 15mbs. With safety, it depends very heavily on the area. That is the major difference I think between SA and other countries, the vast differences between areas that are often very close together. But is out visiting I definitely think you should it's still a beautiful country
