It was an extremely satirical /pol/ tier explanation with little to no hold to truth. Please. Byzantium fell because of Infighting, Instability, 4th crusade, Lack of technological progress, decadence. In short: They couldn't keep up with the time and they were weakened by the turks and crusaders.
For example, Constantinople had 400k citizens pre 4th crusade, after that most deserted and it was a mere shell of it's fromer glory standing tall with 30k citizens. How would you even recover from such?
