Can any nice german anon help me understand this two sentences?
1)
aber liegt denn schon irgendwo Schnee?
I don't get why is "denn" in the middle of the sentence, does it imply anything at all? The translation the course gives me is "But is there snow already?", but the literal translation is "But lies BECAUSE already anywhere snow?", i get the word order but the "denn" makes no sense to me.
2)
"Im Sommer fahre ich am liebsten Mountainbike"
Why is "am liebsten" there? I know its a superlative, but i dont really know how it even translates literally
Can any german anon explain please

"Denn schon" means already.

"Am liebsten" means the most preferable option.
