Don't take it personal. Germans love to hate on other countries, we always make sure to point their faults and mistakes. I don't think there's a single country that's seen a positive or even better than us in the public eye.

I have a hypothesis that even though they're glad not to be nazis anymore they're secretly resentful of us for stopping them from having ultimate power over Europe.
