Try to pronounce "car" and now, don't actually pronounce it. Just stop and the root of your tongue would be blocking to back of your mouth.

Now look at the picture, your tongue must look like this, and this is why the letter looks like that because Korean consonants look like the shape of tongue or teeth or lips that make them.

why are anglos so worthless at pronouncing "r" any other way than they're used to? I do rolled "r"s, throat "r"s and the "english r" without a problem.
