I'm not Indian, but I did live in Delhi for a year and have traveled here on seven separate occasions.

People here are quite proud of India's track record. I've been reminded by strangers online and in real life about how how the world's largest democracy has never instigated a war throughout its existence. Of course, I'm not really sure if that argument stands strong - for most of is existence, India was a hodgepodge mashing-up of nation-states and small empires.
