When I was studying for my leaving cert (from 14 - 16) history was split in two, we learned European history basically the from the events that lead to the first world war to the aftermath of the second.

We also learned Irish history and all the horrible and inhumane things done to us by the English which English people have no idea about because they aren't taught it and why would they be in fairness. There were bits of cross over like how we got guns from Germany to shoot the English under the idea of "my enemies enemy is my friend"

Litterally the only things we learned about ww2 were, Germany fucked europe and US nuked japan
