Yep, also they did not have it any worse then the eastgermans and after that the lower ends of the native financial spectrum.
They got welfare like anyone else and making life shit in their "ghettos" was their own doing as noone forces you to get your neighboors jacket at knifepoint.

It was basically aping the ghettoculture for the heck of it as integrating would have meant submission to our culture which they were too proud for.
Religion plays another role, if they were christian it may have went different as the italians who came in the 50s-60s didnt turn out like this even though they actually lived under miserable conditions.
