Japanese people actually have a higher opinion of weebs than other foreigners. They may regard the weebs as a little strange but they're actually really proud and pleased that weebs are into Japan and Japanese culture.

White tourists are either obnoxious constantly drunk backpackers or sex tourists, and the ones who actually live in Asian countries stick to their expat communities and rarely interact with wider society, mostly because there are significant cultural and linguistic barriers. Mutual respect on a case by case basis between individuals is all you can hope for unless you have enough money to throw bucketloads of cash at random women in China or wherever

I went to the war museum and there were a bunch of young Japanese men there. I thought it was a tour group at first, but apparently it wasn't.
