Mill towns are usually northern so quite grim. The collapse of the manufacturing industry has also lead to some deprivation. I'm from Brighton which is pretty middle class, with traditional working class people living just outside. It's the only place that has a Green MP, so you can imagine what some people are like. I like it though, pretty comfy

Leeds is awful, Liverpool is actually quite nice. Neither of those are mill towns though, these are all large urban conurbations which will inevitably be crammed with minorities. If you want a white majority mill town just drive about 50miles outside of any city and its like going back in time.
