I'm pretty much at a dead end. I have a ton of debt and nothing to show for it.

This path began with me doing poorly in high school, and it's not going anywhere good.
>>
>>66631707
Bad. I couldn't bother to study, it bored me to death. I wasn't a cool kid, I was just uninterested and I still am. I managed to get my high school diploma in the right time in 2009 and also a professional degree but I think I couldn't possible go back to school.
>>
>>66631765
Same here. I think mine was about 2.3 or so when I graduated. I simply never ever did homework, didn't study orb try at all.

And none of that mattered at all. I decided to go into the army and "have some fun and adventure" and all that cal and was 26 when I got out.
Now I'm a 26 year old first year college student. I got accepted to a university here and will be studying what I want and working towards what I want to do and be.
High school and my grades had literally zero to do with any of it.
>>
>>66632562

I had a 3.1 in high school without really trying. Went to a private school and classes were quite difficult. Should've tried harder. Got like a 2050 on my SAT. Only took it once.

In college now and have like a 3.4 with two semesters left. Trying to graduate with a 3.5 so I can qualify for a good MBA program a couple years down the road. Job prospects look pretty good atm.
>>
>>66632602

I did really well in the end of ear 10 exams just coasting by on natural ability and poor work ethic. Year 12 exams were a lot harder and drinking frequently and ever studying didn't help. Ended up with a uni entrance score of 63/100, which is bad.

Fucked around for a few years and went back as a mature aged student. Doing pretty well so far.

>>
>>66631707
I got "A"s until I just got tired of my shitty life (had a shitty childhood+adolescence) and gave up and then got straight "F"s. Luckily I ended up later in my adult life getting a GED and getting a really high score (3.8 GPA specifically).

And luckily there's still the military since I'm way too fucking poor to go to college on my own (except maybe some shitty community college) and they'll pay for my degree.
>>
>>66633488
It's out of 2400, it varies by college, med school in the united States is grad school, which requires a bachelor's and you to take another examination(MCAT) for admission.
>>
>>66633488
Out of 2400. My score was above average, but it's not too great.

It varies from school to school. I ended up studying engineering at a shitty school.
>>

>>66633584
It seems to be kinda flexible to the outside observer. Like you could have 2000 going for a class with a minimum of 2100 and get it because you volunteer at soup kitchens and shit. Any truth in that?

Here you only get a chance if you're under if they're desperate to get enough numbers to make up a class.
>>
I graduated with an average score of 7. In my country 10, is the maximum score so for American standards I think I graduated with a C or B idk

6 is the score you have to have to be able to graduate by the way, so I was barely above average

Yah, with holistic admissions, they consider everything about your application and even if your way under the average profile in terms of test scores you can still snag a spot if they feel you'll make a great addition to their class, this mostly applies to minority applicants though. This only applies to private schools for the most part, most mid tier public universities here basically have guaranteed admissions for people within certain GPA and test score cut off.

Also Americanons, just so you guys know

http://blog.prepscholar.com/what-is-the-average-sat-score
In 2015, a record 1.7 million students took the SAT. The College Board calculated the total data for the class of 2015 and reported the average.

>For 2015, the national SAT score average was:

Critical Reading: 495
Mathematics: 511
Writing :484
Total: 1490
>Therefore, if you score a 1500 or above, you're above the national average.

AKA the average American is dumb as fuck. This is only of the people that take the SAT (generally people that want to go to college) as well.

mostly it's when high school kids actually bother to apply themselves and they find high school classes to be easy, because they are

then they go to university where classes are usually much more difficult. they assume it's not going to be any harder than high school and then they flunk out, because suddenly class is actually difficult

it usually happens in first year, but for bright kids it often happens in second year when things get serious
