Yeah I get what you mean, here in Quebec there's still a lot of the "old left" from the 60's and 70's which was focused on issues such as syndicalism, educational infrastructure (especially in rural areas), rent/housing, and of course national sovereignty (it was that same left which created and still propels the PQ).
