For a publishing company it is often less economically viable to hire actors, a crew, a writer and make a movie, than to take something american and slap on subtitles.

the majority of Dutch produced films are children movies because that is the only audience that does not speak english.

Add to that that Dutch productions are often of low quality and not taken seriously
