Would you live in a house made from shipping containers? They're really cheap here, like $2,500 each and some people are using them to build large homes very quickly. Inside they modify them to look like a normal house.
Only if bolted solidly to a poured concrete foundation.

Have you got an interior pic?
BTW, here gypsies live in these containers, so people would probably give you shit for living in it. Better than nothing, though.
The insulation must be top tier

Yes, I would live in one.
What about Log Cabin kits?
They are also cheap, under $20,000

To be honest I've always trought it would be a good idea. What about a whole district on riverside/seaside made to look like a harbour.

i would but then i'd freeze to death

They're better in terms of material and comfortability but they're usually much more expensive for the same square footage.

They're common for use in military training facilities. You can easily set up a large, elaborate compound for cheap and train your soldiers to find their way through it. Some paintball companies have also started using them to create large outdoor arenas for paintball competitions.

wouldnt this be hard as fuck to keep warm?

nvm ignore that >>66448888

Actually no. Metal heats up pretty quickly. I'd be more worried about burning everything inside. Usually in our current home the only thing that gets heated up are the floors but in a container I'd be worried about the walls heating up too.

>Metal heats up pretty quickly.
That's exactly why it disperses heat and you spend more.
Insulation is made of something that doesn't heat up easily.
>living in a country with a real estate bubble that makes housing so absolutely affordable that you have to live in a literal crate
toppest kek
I used to think they could be used for public housing, but then I did some further research and the truth is that making those things livable is not really that economical.

I actually would, while they make horrendous architecture I've always been intersted in the idea of turning a home's interior into something like a car's, this does have characteristics that would aid in that.

Tiny homes like these often aren't. Takes like $40-60k to build an OK one. When I can buy an actual home in my area for under 100k, it doesnt really make any sense.
