A British study showed around half of elite cross-country skiers have the condition. 5-7 of our 22 current athletes have asthma according to our national coach.

Northug, Johaug, Weng, Östberg are not among them. Sundby, Björgen and Falla are. Asthma medicine has however been given to athletes like Johaug when they've been suffering from upper respiratory tract infections, but this is legal use of the medication and the same rules apply to everyone.

You don't see a problem in Norwegian authorities deciding on convictions for one of their top athletes in a sport that has huge markets in Norway? Of course they will defend her in any way possible because it's a question of money.

And there's coverage of the Johaug side of the story here too but nobody believes it. There have been actual experts on the news who've been asked if the balm in any normal or close to normal dosage would trigger the doping test and they said it would be impossible if she didn't put a 100 tubes on every possible lip she has.

Well, your skiing organization spends like 20x more money on the dope whereas the Finnish skiers just got some horse's asthma medication, it's no wonder that we get caught and you don't. No, that's how antidoping agencies work in every country. USADA covers American athlete, FINADA Finnish ones and so forth. Antidoping Norway has a reputation of being one of the strictest and professional national antidoping agencies in the world. IOC gave our antidoping work a 10 out of 10 in the 2022 Olympic bid. No skiers are tested more frequently than the Norwegians, so it's strange so few have been caught if it's indeed systematic doping.

All athletes at that level try to win by any means necessary, if the country is rich enough to put enough money to the medical programs to develop doping methods that don't show on current tests, then those are going to be used. It's impossible to know who cheat, but if one small country dominates the whole scene of a sport it really does make it quite blatantly clear that something else than than high altitude training is used to achieve those scores... Finns do it, Norwegians do it, Chinese do it, Yankees do it, Russians definitely do it.

It's tiny sport that 1-5 nations put a decent amount of resources into, so it's not very shocking. Sweden dominated the sport in the 80s with Svan and Wassberg, and no one are pointing any fingers at them. Netherlands sweep almost all medals in speed skating and no one consider them cheats, they just put in so much more resources in the sport that it makes perfect sense their athletes are amazing.

Same goes for Norway in XC-skiing, the sport is much larger here than in any other country and you can ski in every single county of the country. Ski tracks are always just a few hours away in winter at most, and in the summer we have the snowcovered mountains. To put it into perspective, there were three Norwegian skiers (people competing in Norwegian/Swedish national championships) for every one Swedish skier last season.

You guys have your hockey team that is a million times better than we will ever be as the sport is pretty dead here, but I guess you're just doped out of your minds by your logic.
