It's not soggy at all, you don't pour the vinager as if it was ketchup, and you just pour it right before eating them. Fish and Chips are a traditional food, probably the second most popular cheap menu after pic related.

We have a local Med/Greek/Turk/Jew cafe that gets really good reviews for the midwest. They serve "Fire Fries" which are covered in feta, parsley, hot sauce, and some sort of seasoning. Sounds gross. Tastes great.
