HOLY SHIT.
I've been on 4chan for like 2 years (I know, still a newfag) and never have noticed /ic/. I can't believe this shit.
It would be great if someone would be willing to critique some of my sketches. Most of them are just in black and white bc I still don't jump into color theory. Also most of them are traditional cuz my pc is broken rn :'(

cool stuff

Fuck off.
Pretty good stuff OP, thanks for sharing.
This is great work. I love it.
Meh tier art, don't take the opinions of /beg/ ngmis too seriously. As far as critique goes, generally jsut study fundies, anatomy mostly, especially hands and ear placement, your ears are very wrong. Really nice inking technique though, good line weight.
>>3126129
The pose looks very incomfortable, try learning how the body functions, the rib cage, the pelvis and the spine. The head is skewed, try mirroring it and you'll see it. The ears are not on the same height too. I think you don't do the construction of the head or don't feel the 3d form.

*uncomfortable
>>3126321
>ngmi starter pack
>>3126123
Very imaginative, it has potential.
Practice line quality, Dynamic sketching / drawabox kind of exercises. Your lines aren't bad, but not exactly beautiful either.
I assume you want to be more than a hobbyist, so you might want to try taking on something that would challenge you a bit more - can you draw a pose like pic related? Can you draw it from a different angle than the one in the photo?
It's hard to tell how strong your construction is, for example in >>3126133 the feet aren't sitting on the same ground plane.
>>3126123
Don't mix ink with graphite. Ink relies on high contrast and goes well with hatching, while graphite relies on soft gradations. If you combine the two, you'll deny both of them to stand out.
>>3126502
Actually, I think it looks pretty cool. And he applied both tastefully. Would read a comic in that style
>>3126123
I was on 4chan for 6 years before noticing /ic/, used to think that /i/was the only art board. Nice work OP, lovely values
>>3126321
there's no exercises in Framed Ink
>>3126129
great hands and forearms
>>3126321
>that much loomis
>no bridgman
>nothing about regular direct observation
fastest way to improve is following along with s robertson dvds (easier than books for beginners) and trying to apply bridgman studies to weekly figure drawing sessions.
>>3126382
Ayy thanks :)
>>3126447
Thank you a lot. First piece of criticism I get in a looong time, til now I was just relying on self-criticism.
About the ear thing, yeah I realized that recently, I'm working on it. I can't believe how far I've gone without actually knowing where the ear goes. I tend to make em too high or too close to the face.
>>3126500
I'll do it when I'm back home in a couple of hours. I'm pretty sure I can do it. And yea, I used to draw as a hobbyist for a lot of years but since last year I've been taking it more seriously. I'd like to become a comic artist.
>>3126502
Yeah, it was more of an experiment desu. I tried to do some sunbeams falling on her back but it didn't work out... Do you guys have any sauces on light study?
>>3126511
Thx breh
>>3126523
Uhh I didn't followed a plan exactly... I've seen a million videos on YouTube. My biggest style inspirations are Kim Jung Gi (duh), sinixdesign on yt, and holy brown mainly for motivation and the daily grind.
>>3126500
Done
It was very tricky. I liked drawing it, do you have more references like that?
proof that people who are not on /ic/ turn out better than your regular d/ic/ks.
Good work OP.
>anon doesn't fall for the /ic/ memes
>actually gets good
Wew.
>>3126767
Reminds me of old rpg rulebooks. It's pretty great mate
>>3127007
>doesn't study
>doesn't use construction
>can still draw the model in different perspective when asked
I'm impressed, anon.
>>3127007
Not bad at all. You're still a bit afraid of foreshortening tho, that left leg should be larger coming against us.
Draw larger, your lines lack confidence. Pick Scott Robertson's How to draw from the Artbook thread, that should patch you up.
Good shit OP.
>>3127457
Is construction a meme then?
>>3127457
its not that hard bruh
Crazy amount of dicksucking going on here but I shouldn't be surprised.
>>3127493
bosd worg :D
>>3127011
That's because most people here spend their time arguing and shitposting rather than drawing.
Or the ones that DO study, fo an excessive amount of mundane and repetitive exercises rather than just hunkering down and doing completed pieces.
>>3127487
Sure.
The old masters have been memeing artists for over 500 years.
Must be one hell of a meme.
>>3127007
I think it looks great.
>>3127461
It looks perfectly fine to me, that left leg. Foreshortening depends on the size of the that is looking at it. I don't think it would be that big of a difference at this distance with the human eye and at a decent distance.
>>3127498
This to be honest. Construction is excessive. Take the parts you have trouble drawing and construct them to help. If you can't eye the piece and correct it otherwise you're probably not going to make it.
>>3127500
>they've been doing it for 500 years so it must be right
Maybe you're just scared of independent thought like most people seem to be.
>>3127011
You're making me blush =^-^=
>>3127457
Heyyy.. I do study :(
And and also I do make construction lines... Is just that I don't write them down, I try to see the depth and perspective of an object in my head. I'm a Kim Jung Gi wannabe
I'll try your Image when I get back home ;)
>>3127461
Yeah I've picked up a lot of books from the /beg/ threads.
>>3127478
Thenks ma dude
>>3127498
I think you guys take drawing with a highly methodical mindset. Just like this image >>3126321
I mean... Is obviously good to read those books and learn basics but if that's the only thing you do you're going to hate drawing at the end. You have to concentrate on what are the things you like to draw and THEN study to make them better technically.
>>3126123
you show good linework in some of them, but all in all it's just okayish. The poses you did suck hard, would try to study figures and anatomy
>>3127500
The old masters didn't use construction. Go ahead and post that Cambiasso drawing of box people, it's pretty much the only concrete example in hundreds of years of art.
>>3127621
I like your mindset, great drawings btw. Gonna work hard to hopefully reach a level similar to yours sometime!
>>3127708
>Cambiasso
Nothing wrong with thinking of boxes.
