To be fair I was a week 4 LAS when there was only 5 week 4s. I burned out from LAS.

I would avoid LAS and just work on fundamentals on your own.
>>
>>3112918
/las/ didn't include me so I stopped giving a fuck.
>>
>>3112935
>burned out
literally what? It's just a 30 minute drawing/day to make sure you draw. Anyone (should) be able to do that. LAS isn't for showing off.

I have a question for those "Burning out"

What exactly are you guys drawing when you feel burned out?

I go on a break for months lol

That wasn't the question.

Sometimes, i've been thinking about trying to live on my own as an artist to force myself to get good. I mean, i just feel like being a neet (barely a neet, because i still work but in a family business) is the principal problem and maybe doing that i can beat procrastination. I feel i can do some living with my actual talent but i'm not satisfied with it.
>>
This is a very serious issue for me, because sometimes I force myself and draw at least 2 hours in one day but I can't do anything the next one. I just can't create a routine that I can stick to for some reason. I can draw for fucking 8 hours and I still won't be able to draw anything the next day.

Am I retarded?
>>
>>3113003
What exactly are you drawing? If you're are only doing studies, then there's the problem.
>>
>>3113010
Yes, I am doing only studies because I can't draw anything on my own.
>>
>>3113012
Well, then there's your problem. Try to draw what you love. You already have the inspiration. Draw what you have in your head, fail, look up refs from favorite artwork. Ask yourself "how did they do that?"

Study/Copy their art work, mean while also study from life to determined what features they are exaggerating. Then go back to drawing what you love.

Draw what you love MORE than studying. If you let studying overwhelm you, you will get burned out.
>>
>>3112793
dedicate yourself to 10min(5min if you're that lazy) each day. don't always practice the same thing if it's boring; do want you want first. gradually increase the time as you settle into a routine.
>>
>>3112935
It's good for forming a habit since it can urge you to just pick up a pencil and draw for a little bit everyday. After you have establish the habit then you can drop it. You still draw every day right? You just got tired of posting to las? I kinda feel like quitting too since it's a bit limiting.
>>3112936
I know how you feel, it isn't really much of a community anymore and the threads are so slow that it's hard to include anyone. I'm W1 and I don't even feel included.
>>
Is there a good app for mobile who could help me planify things like this ? Having a daily reminder would be really helpful

Being in the procrastination-work limbo is the fucking worst.

Deadlines seem to be the most effective motivator from what I've seen. I'd recommend trying loss aversion. Write a check for a significant amount of money that you could live without, give it to a friend you trust. Tell that friend they can cash that check if you don't give them a new finished painting every week(or fill a sketchbook every month or whatever.) You'll feel way more motivated when you have something to lose.

Try wunderlist. Or set an alarm in your phone.

I know that exact feel anon. I'm on vacation right now so it isn't hurting me too much, I start drawing at like 1 AM and sleep around 6-7 AM. However it starts fucking me up when I have school because I can't get myself to draw in the morning or day time and I can't stay up past 2 AM or Ill turn into a drooling retard.

How to fix?
>>
>>3112793
Leave your home with your sketchbook
Like study at the library or something.
Unless you draw porn. Dont draw porn at the library.
>>
>>3113118

>I can't get myself to draw in the morning

Why not? Can't or won't? Personally I used to hate the idea but when I got into the habit of waking up a little earlier for art I actually found I had a lot more patience and attention in the morning (after coffee at least).

>>
>>3113153
I try to but I can't seem to focus on it. Maybe I'll do a couple doodles but I can't get into studies or anything serious for some reason. I've tried just sitting down in the morning with some loomis or Bridgman but my attention just wanders and wains. Idk what it is, maybe I've just formed a really strong habit by always drawing late at night so my brain associates that with prime drawing time.
>>
I literally can't imagine people drawing for 8 hours. I mean I am not saying that they lying, it's just so surreal to see people put so much work while I have trouble with drawing for 15 min. I should have hanged myself years ago so I wouldn't have to be challenged by everything.

Work towards something specific. Similar to what >>3113017 said, you should look at art you like, pick out things you want to do like them, and study how to do those things.

I should say that I somewhat disagree with:
>Draw what you love MORE than studying. If you let studying overwhelm you, you will get burned out.

Making bad original art over and over burns me out quick a lot of the time. I think you should:
>Really narrow down what you're studying (instead of juggling too many different topics) >keep it close to what you want to create (so instead of things like random floating boxes, draw box versions of your favorite art/references)
>Stick to that topic for like 8- 12 weeks (the length of online courses)
>mark off the days on your calendar and don't be harsh on your output until the end.
>Make fun pieces every now and then

Immersing in one thing like that makes studying fun since you can see the progress much better and it takes off some of the pressure of trying to do everything right all at once.
>>
>>3112793
JUST
FUCKING
DO
IT
stop bitching about it, the time you spend bitching here is less time to actually draw.

You either do or you don't. Free will doesn't exist, you're influenced by your environment. Try to surround yourself with productive people, it's the only thing that works.
>>
>>3113809
But free will does exist, I can do whatever, it's just procrastination is a choice based on being confused and lazy. I can start drawing now but I won't be able to do anything meaningful with it.

faggidiot advice. you end up "doing it" and then tomorrow, and for the entire month your mind drifts and you dont even remember what you were trying to do until you see /ic/ again
>>
Go to the library. Once you're there you'll want to put in a couple hours of drawing.
>>
>Grab drawing tool.
>Grab paper/notebook.
>Use drawing tool to draw lines on paper.

Stimulant medication.

>Adderall
>/Moafinil
>/Cofee + Green tea
>/Street meth
>/Cocaine
>Cigarettes or Gums (Nicotine)

Take your pick, son. They all work great.

>>3115747
What if it just turns your procrastination into advanced procrastination where you procrastinate your procrastination?
