I know this is an odd thread but I have been questioning myself a lot lately. Here is my backstory I was a full time freelance artist making around $900 a month not good money but not bad money. I was fine with the money I was being paid because I have disabilities and was unable to do anything else but freelance. After a while I started questioning the behavior some of these companies and people wanting to hire me would treat me, they treat me poorly and then say it was my own fault for being an artist. I started having people constantly trying to scam me I put steps in place in order to rid any people scamming me, then those people began to harass me because I learned how to protect myself I stopped giving them any reactions. Soon I had a famous artist start stealing my work and claiming it as their own and they could get away with it because my name is small.

I know that in our society and history that artists have been treated unfairly and expected to do their work regardless of their treatment while they are alive. I just feel burnt out and unable to draw well. I use to draw for the hope of making others smile with my work but now I do not want to draw for anyone but myself or share my work with anyone.

I want to know what the reason is you draw?

Are you already aware of how people treat artists?

How do you deal with the poor treatment and expectations of giving your all for nothing because you are an artist?

Paranoia is a personality defect, not a disability.

Paranoid schizophrenia is an actual disability.

I don't.

I got that from the maxresdefault.jpg.

Wow.

Well, I do really get upset when I consider how people perceive me sitting in front of my computer in the same light as them sitting in front of their television. That artwork isn't considered work.

I also get annoyed because it seems like artists are the first ones to get burned out of their work by others either taking it from figuratively and actually.

If an artist is taking your work and calling it his own I would sue his ass if he made money on it.

The reason I draw is because I'm compelled to. I am trying to leave behind some kind of legacy or a map to my heart for my daughter to have because I never get to see her. It's the only thing left I have that's pure which I hold sacred. I cling to it in my darkest times.
>>
Btw I thought the OP .JPEG looked like Kim Jong Gi's work.

I did not have the money to sue them sadly. First I contacted the artist and they ignored me so then I showed it to their fans in hopes of them calling them out so that they would stop taking advantage of small named artists but instead they said I stole the work even though mine was posted a month before them. I even had artists who they stole art from contact me as well but it was a losing battle.

How do you keep it pure and sacred?

It is not mine I no longer post my work on the internet. Had too many people stealing my work that I ended up getting to the boss battle of art theft and got burnt out.

Tell us the faggot's name anon

If I were a company or a buyer of art and I discovered what I paid for was ripped off I would have a huge problem with that and I'm sure most businesses or individuals will agree.

Also, I would use have streams of me doing the work so it would be flat out impossible for this other indidual to claim authorship. Don't keep it to yourself. Share it.

Also, if someone told me a picture I drew or song I wrote had some impact on them that inspired them and it got them through a hard time that would mean the whole world to me

I think the canon progression for dealing with intellectual property theft is
>polite request
>formally worded demand
>formally worded demand to the hosting service provider
>DOS attack
>arson

I fail to see a problem in what you typed above. Stop giving a shit about others or how they threat you. If you depend on that money and are not good enough to choose your employer then you'll just have to suck it up until you get better. As for that "big" artist, can you name him (I'm going to be mean to you if you don't)? If it's such a problem start a youtube channel and post process. If he reuploads your shit copyright strike his ass.

>I want to know what the reason is you draw?
Because I made a commitment.
Also I have zero public appearance. So no interactions.

Maybe you should do the same. Go under for some time, study, make some finished pieces. Make an account somewhere (artstation, whatever), upload your shit. Since you were under it will take him a while to catch up and if he reuploads all at once it'll be even more suspicious. If he starts reuploading piece by piece you have time difference and you should have original files, sketches, etc.. Again, copyright strike his ass. I don't think major sires would have problem with such an obvious case.

post some that was stole already then silly op

A lot of the feedback I've received from projects I've worked on and pieces I've finished have been negative, so I've just grown a thicker skin and studied more than I already was. I've done the same as you, in that I usually only draw for myself now. I'd like to improve at art and have that ability in me for life, alongside having something to show for all the work I've done. I hated busywork in school, at least the sketches and studies I create have a trail for me to measure where I was vs. where I am currently.

Artists get the shit end of the stick. You'll always be hard on yourself and others are more than happy to be hard on you as well. Try to view your work through a balanced critical lens. Freelance-wise, you need to decide what you yourself are willing to put up with and decide whether or not your art and job experience is strong enough to move you from bootlicker to bossman. Have a spine and put yourself out there so any unfairness that happens to you can reach an audience that cares and can support you if you get stiffed. Even just having a group of friends can help with that.

The poor treatment and expectations because you're an artist stems from so many people considering themselves things they really aren't. Usually if someone tells me they're an artist I'm skeptical until I've seen something they've drawn. People love being the judges of things. If you aren't up to their subjective standards, so what? If it's an employer then you just take the notes they gave you and fix your product to how they wanted it. If it's a bunch of normies who don't care about stolen artwork, they aren't the ones you're catering to In the first place. I doubt they've ever bought a commission in their life. Audiences are retards sometimes and rarely know what they want until it's in front of their face, it's up to you to supply that. Just try and find fun in that and you've got a career doing something you enjoy.

Based on your digits, I would assume the proper course of action would be to send them to the gas chamber or call them out on the Day of the Rope, once you're finished using your art to convey the idea that We must ensure the existence of Our People and a Future for White Children.

However, most artists just drink, albeit some prefer beer halls and National Socialism over drinking alone.

Creativity in general, same shitty problems with designers people wont assume you as important as you really are, if you want money and people around you sees you good, make some work at the bussines world but it is empty life to creative people dont worth it
