Does anyone know of any video processes or tutorials where the instructor/artist PAINTS a clothed figure? Paid or not.
Drawing them is much easier; the problem is with painting such complex shit. It should probably be easier.
I want to learn to paint something that looks like pic related instead of some rennaissance-like cape with one million creases and folds.
Don't have any videos, but if you can draw it well I think your big thing is mostly just deciding between whether the creases in the clothes make a hard edge or a soft edge. You can see on your pic that there's a mix of both, some soft gradations as well as some harder ones where there's a bigger fold with a tiny bit of texture too.
I know it's a cop-out but how often do you do fabric studies?

Nah, in this case it's more of an afterthought. More like a texture I would say that wasn't really laid out in the underdrawing of catbib.
Painting something as complex as drapery by dividing it in a thousand plains is probably not the answer. I don't want to spend a thousand hours making a complete tridimentional representation of every fold and crease in my mind every time I want to design a character. Nobody does that unless they're making a drapery study or something and that's not what intrigues me honestly.

just look at this and try to copy. Jesus. This all about edge control, shape, and color, and maybe some details

I just want to see someone's workflow instead of stumbling with tools until I get something decent. Jesus. What is with the autism in IC that prevents people from sharing a fucking link to a video or something?

It should be pretty easy to paint like the related image if you understand how drapery works.
Here's an idea. Actually post something you've done so we can see what you need help with.

My drapery is shit so I haven't saved anything I've done with drapery. I'm just asking for videos like the ones I've described.

If there was a video, I or someone else would've linked it by now.
So, paint something new, then, and post it here for critique. Or just give up. It makes no difference to me.
