Can I get some notes on this, maybe a redline? I know that left leg/foot is wonky, I just can't get it looking good.

fuck off, this looks great. The only thing that could be improved is maybe the shape of the pectoralis, its a big round where it could be edging more twoards its insertion points.
>>3108983
Sorry to say this so late in the game, but I really think the pose could be more dynamic, have you heard of the Line of Action? Research it, practice it, and incorporate it into your next piece.
>>3108983
first off, great job
second, i think you are insisting on too much of his torso being exposed. you could hide a lot of it behind the knee that comes forward
i am just saying this because i know ive seen spiderman fly around sort of hunched over.
>>3109022
This pretty much. The drawing is sound but the pose isn't very dynamic, in general you have too many angles that are similar, arms and legs are pretty much mirrored and rotated a bit, and the angle of all limbs is in the same range. Especially in a Spider-Man pose you want something really dynamic, push the body against the knee, more torsion in the waist etc.
Thanks guys. I had originally drawn this, but a drawing forum I'm on suggested changing it drastically, so I did. Apparently, like running, web sling is done with alternative limbs being put forwards; right hand and left leg, etc.

Gonna check it out for sure. Thanks.

>drawing Spiderman or other capeshit like a gradeschooler
Damn, i guess i should do something productive like yellow text on 4chan.
>>3108983
poses look really stiff, like you referenced an action figure
>>3109105
piss off, m8
>>3109113
I've been trying to draw less stiff, but have largely been unsuccessful. Any reference material/exercises you could point to to achieve this?
>>3109121
Avoid 90* angles, mirrored angles, try to put variation in the position of segments of the body and follow a line of action is what I've learned so far
>>3108983
Like the other poster said I would adjust those pecs but I noticed the shoulder muscles were a little to short they should extend further down. the biceps on his left arm is too round for that pose. Try it with your arm you'd notice the biceps are flatter than if you were to flex like his right arm. the brachioradialis (or whatever it's called) on the forearm should cover the bicep a little but I think that's because you made the bicep too round and short.
I'm not sure about this one but the plane of the flat side of the foot looks like it should be pointing more towards the left corner.
>>3108983
I don't know why people are praising this the pose is stiff as a board. It looks like you posed a hard plastic action figure and drew there, there's no gesture or flow to it. The city is quite nice though
>>3109131
to add to that I think your main problem is in both examples the spine is completely straight, you'd never see anyone make that kind of pose in real life
>>3109134
Fuck, you're right. I feel like an idiot, everytime I've heard people mention straight spines in my work, I exclusively had thought about this the non-lateral aspect, like leaning forward or back... shit.
I think the composition is really weak. It wouldn't be as obvious is the pose had more energy to it, but as it stands there's nothing terribly exciting about the piece. Spidey is way too big on the page in my opinion, if you pushed him further back it would contrast better against the already busy city backdrop. Are you drawing this as a mock-cover, pinup or interior page? Is comics what you're looking to get into?
I don't draw capes but by looking at a bunch of cover shots of Spidey, I see the pattern of having him shoot web towards the viewer rather than on the side. It makes for better poses since you can draw the hands a lot closer
here's my shit tier attempt at it. I hope you know what I'm trying to get at.
idk what to do with the foot.
I might have made your art worse. If that's the case I'm sorry
>>3109060
This is even better bloody hell
>>3109168
Not really trying to get in, I draw comics as my main source of income, just not super hero stuff. Trying to get better, at capes stuff and drawing in general. Bout to start doing those vilpu lessons again too.
I have never been satisfied with any drawings i've ever done of Spidey or Batman. I comeback to them time to time and draw another rendering of them that I am not happy with at all, but is meagerly better in most respects....
>>3109172
Thanks for this dude, looks sharp.
>>3109171
true stuff, the origianal attempt embraced that more.
>>3109193
I may have made his head a little to round but I though it was a little flat to begin with. you get the point. Just curve it a little
Study gesture drawing and you'll be the next jim lee.
damn, I wanna draw cool spideys too. how long does it take to reach that level?
