Reminder that you dont need to be ruan jia in order to become a successful concept artists behind a sucessful videogame.
And even if you did, you can always kill him, eat his liver and take his place.

I think this board is a little too pretentious at times.
Honestly after several years doing "art," I came to the realization that there is no such thing.
The important part is that you entertain people.
There are certain standards that people may meet, yes, but if someone enjoys what you do why question it?
Ask yourself something.
Is art an effective form of communication?
The answer is no, of course not.
The things that people consider great works of art usually entertain, and have some message or historical context surrounding them.
Works of "modern art" or historical paintings are things anyone can do, but they are a status symbol.
Something created to brag about, and honestly not what I would consider art.
As long as people enjoy what you make there is no sense in trying to pick it apart.
I would not say that I would be entertained by OP's game.
That doesn't mean no one would.

>cool a videogame with Deviant Art-tier graphics
Why would you want this? It even uses fucking gradients
>>3102788
you sound like the typical insulated autodidact
>today i learned everyone else is wrong, well i say learned, i worked it out by myself

I never said that everyone was wrong.
You're oversimplifying my argument.
I do not think that OP's game is good, and I think he needs to stop advertising on 4chan.
I would also probably suggest for him to use pixel art or hire an artist for his game.
As for being an autodidact, yes I do occasionally learn things by myself.
Regardless of what I said here's my argument.
Your main priority in an entertainment field is to entertain.
This is a better simplified argument.
As for working it out by myself, it is very true that you can form your own opinions and arguments based on your past experiences.
If you are incapable of doing so then that is your problem not mine.
You've just implied that you need someone to point things out to you in order to form thoughts.
For that I apologize.
