is drawing a waste of time?
Why not just do 3D? Apparently its much easier.
I keep hearing drawing is a waste of time, and it hurts because i love drawing, and i want to keep doing it, but they have a point.
3D is much easier, 3D is more employable, 3D doesnt look as garbage as most of the sketches from the average /ic/ user
Dont get me wrong, i adore drawing, but im legit scared that im just wasting my time

For you, yes it probably is. But unfortunately 3D won't be much of a difference I imagine. Most 3D work done by amateurs looks like utter garbage, way worse than amateur drawings because at least there you can sometimes find some appeal in the linework, the design, the style etc. A shitty 3D model on the other hand has literally no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

you dont have to worry about lighting/light sources, perspective, color, etc in 3d, it beats the hell out of painting a drawing at least

But it almost always looks like shit and the only times where it doesn't end up looking like shit is when the artist paints on top of it to make it look less like a 3D model and more like a painting.
