How do you make your line art look clean but not look flat

I've got a question related to OP...
How do you get such sharp lines in photoshop? If one of my lines touch another the opacity becomes all weird.

Every time I see advice, instructions, or tutorials about line weight, it's always with tablets and never pencils.

Use a reference and pay close attention to how the eyes look

Also don't worry about lines until you're finished with the sketch phase. When you are, try going over it with pen or putting a new sheet of paper over it and drawing on that.

be more confident with your strokes. i want you to do some boxes and cylinders. one, confident pass. thats it. for your heads, your roughs should allow you to do a confident stroke. study some linework and see how some lines come forward and some lines get pushed back. this will help you immensely.
