doing some sorta photostudy - thought I'd post wips for c&c rather than getting butthurt when I think I'm done. I'm trying for a loose style, wide grid.

how should I tackle this mess-o-fingers?
nose bridge is too wide, her eyes look too close to each other but that might be because of the bridge

If you had cropped the left side of the photo, I'd still be able to tell you were drawing on top of a photo & getting your colors from an eyedropper tool.
The expressiveness of gesture is pleasurable to the viewer because it's the artist's reflexive understanding of anatomy, light, and form. The unavoidable exaggerations and deviations from the real are what have expression and energy.
It's flat and slanted, you need to construct

Not drawing on top - I've got the zooms linked. I was doing colour by eye, but got bored (I was pretty close most of the time anyway).

Nice - much appreciated, I'll work on this first & update. I've found doing stuff from photos makes me lose all my construction.

you're shooting yourself in the foot
it's about developing an eye for the right values, not finding the exact hue
the pic is bad for a beginner , it's blurry and has too smooth value transitions over a majority of the image
you're symbol drawing the entire nose and not looking at what you're supposed to depict
yeah its not a good idea to practice with asian features, especially someone so smooth like bae yoon young, or really any female model with a baby face. you start by drawing african and caucasian skulls of males to learn to construct planes and then you can learn to draw asian models and women and children well.
