study his stuff. make a moodboard of some his art, then grab some references of pics that inspire you, and try to create a pic using the reference, in the style you got from the moodboard of his. and emulate it. i learned a fuckton this way.

Hue shifting the darker value of the skintones towards reds and always saturating them. Then you want to shift the hues of your colors in light groups of values towards the color of the light source(in this case yellow) and desaturate the colors(also make sure to pick only halfway saturated colors on the color box, don't make it too saturated or too grey). The way you get anything to looks soft while coloring by having subtle value changes as apposed to having big sharp areas of contrast, so when you're rendering skin, make sure to shift the hues only one color over at max and raise the values meters on the value slider by like 20 at max.

Atelier fag here and if you're asking vague retarded questions you're probably not going to get well thought out advice. For starters it would help a lot to see some of your work so we'd have an idea of where what your level is. You should least attempt to do a figure rendering first so you can find out where you fall short. There isn't really any magical solution on how to model perfect skin on the first try. It's a lot of trial and error
