Will your career as an artist be affected if Net neutrality is abolished?
>>
No, I'm not a degenerate burger
>>
>>3057028

Is that the linux penguin?
>>
>>3057028
i've had the same macbook for 6 years, i visit like 3 websites, what is net neutrality. Seems like a thing only hipsters care about.
>>
>>3057109
>3 website

Imaging paying for internet, and then an additional cost to go on these three websites
>>
>>3057114
okay now what?
>>
>>3057117
It is dumb as hell, imagine paying every month apple tax for the macbook you already paid for
>>
>>3057121
how many species of animal are going to go extinct if this thing passes, exactly?
>>
>>3057123
My wallet doesn't give a shit about extinct animals
>>
>>3057123
just your mom
>>
>>3057128
But if his mom dies he won't get to shitpost on /ic/.
>>
>>3057028
does it only affect usa?
>>
>>3057127
>>3057128
I'd rather we work on outlawing weapons. don't really give a shit about my wallet or the internet. I've already got no money, I'd rather not get shot though.
>>
>>3057133
>I'd rather not get shot though
buy a gun and defend yourself :^)
>>
>>3057135
How bout you just don't shoot me :^)
>>
>>3057133
>don't really give a shit about my wallet or the internet

Good, noone wants you here
>>
>>3057133
incoming conservative cry babies
>>
>>3057121
Wait, what? That sounds highly made up. I always thought the whole net neutrality issue was about giving corporations and internet providers the legal ability to make certain sites on their payroll to be faster, which in reality would mean to slow down the ones who aren't paying them.
>>
>>3057198
>>3057133

That makes no sense. Net Neutrality is a huge issue for liberals as well. You sound like a moronic, corporate stooge to pretty much anyone, regardless of political affiliation.
>>
>>3057133
>outlaw weapons
you should have been shot..
>>
>>3057080
Tencent.
>>
>>3057028
what's wrong with this exactly? i don't even use those sites.
>>
>>3057317
Anything for a (you), huh? You don't use amazon, youtube, steam, or any blog sites for your art or another artists?
>>
>>3057319
steam is a program, and I don't bother with social media.
>>
>>3057320
I know you're clinically retarded but steam is a social platform and therefore a social "media".
>>
>>3057325
steam is your game library. do you know what you're talking about?
>>
>>3057327

You have chat and group features. This is like saying facebook isn't a social media because you use it only to play candy crush.
>>
>>3057327
>>3057320
Wouldn't lack of net neutrality mean online downloads and multiplayer would be throttled? Steam being an online based game store seems like one of the most likely to be affected by this.
>>
>>3057333
>>3057348
thanks for the laffs guys. brightened my day.
>>
>>3057354
anytime friend-a
>>
>>3057317
>i dont use anything therefore its good
its almost as retarded as "works for me tho" argument
>>
If this would be such a huge deal why is no one outside the internet talking about it?
surely normies would freak out if they suddenly had to pay for facebook
>>
>>3057408

I dunno are you around normies to hear them talking about it? That's like saying "if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, would it make a sound?".
>>
>>3057410
well yes, seems like absolutely no one gives a shit in europe, or just doesn't know
>>
It will remove 99.9% of /ic/ from the pool because they don't have a dime.
>>
>"I have nothing to hide"
>>
net neutrality isn't a horrible thing as a concept, consumers dictate which sites they want to use through their wallets, means that consumers as a whole should be happy. just go to reddit instead of /ic/

>>3057133
Yep, outlawing weapons will surely stop outlaws from using them illegally!
>>
>>3057028
Just a bit, I guess.
>Google for reference material
>Youtube for music/podcasts to listen to while I draw
>Paypal for commission payments
>stopped trying to use Twitter for art but I probably promote myself on some of the unlisted networks

So this money goes toward internet providers? I thought net neutrality was about content and speed, didn't know money was involved. Haven't paid much attention since the occasional attacks on net neutrality for the past few years have all been shot down vehemently.

It's a slippery slope that goes both ways. Corporate greed screwing the consumer in one direction, and FCC obscenity censorship and other government meddling in the other.

The potential for the internet to go down the crapper is a lot greater with government meddling IMO though, just look at South Korea. I imagine a lot of porn artists could get fucked over.
>>
>>3057028

I see that image posted constantly and I don't get why people think that it will happen. In practice, that cable-like internet system hasn't been implemented at all, even in the most oppressive countries out there.

They would have to restructure their architecture entirely for them to implement it.

It's also unusual that several multi million dollar tax-evading corporations like Google and Apple support net neutrality. What's in it for them?
>>
>>3057133

I kinda want you to get shot now, to be honest.
>>
>>3057144

How about Lions don't hunt Gazalles? That's how retarded you sound.
>>
>>3058828
Assuming the telecoms get greedy, they'll try to extort money directly out of the big companies like Google instead of their subscribers.
>>
>>3057028
I will boycott the internet if net neutrality is abolished.
Is this image real or fake?
>>
>>3057133
>be commie
>get shot
>>
>>3058853
It's fake, but not inconceivable. This is how (they) want the internet to look like in the future, and (they're) working up to it, little by little.
>>
>>3057212
Well it would allow them to charge customers to access website. I highly doubt they'll do that though, it would piss off too much of their customer base and it would cost them more in angry customers clogging support lines than they'd gain.
They're just gonna make deals with the sites. Hell, they already do, now it'll just be legal.
>>
I dont know much about this net neutrality thing because i dont live in america, but will it affect other countries? also, can programs like Tor fix this kind of bs?
