Are top tier artists narcissistic? Do you have to be driven by

You have to believe in your work to come this far, but you also need the ability to self-reflect properly, something narcissists lack.

I would rather speak of taking pride in the craft itself. Great artist may come off as arrogant since their standards are set incredibly high, especially for themselves.

As far as successfulness goes: Be as bold as possible. Even if you don't believe in your work, sell it as the hottest shit.

no, i think different people are different and some of them are also good artists. like monet wasn't full of himself at all, i've also never heard a bad word about sargent, while guys like picasso or dali were right out there. so if anything being spanish is a better indicator of egoism than being a good artist.

I'm sure there's plenty of bad artists who are also really narcissistic
