Does anyone else here just want to keep art as a hobbie rather than a job but still want to grind out the fundamentals for hours each day? It seems like everyone on this board wants to work in the industry or become famous online, anyone here want to make and improve art to have something to work on and be proud of?
Honestly art school is shit. Just keep it as a hobby. Maybe become an architect, it's the only good job that requires a good understanding of art
For me it's also just a hobby. I've worked in the field before and I didn't like it. I just do what I like in art and read a book once in a while.
If you get a job, it's great. Otherwise, it's just a hobby.
I'm learning to be an art teacher. Because I like to teach.
But aside from that, I want to become a good artist.
I want to create the best art I can
everything else in my life is just a means to achieve that
I used to want to pursue the industry but after realizing the reality of what it's like I've got a normal job that pays more and gives me more energy to focus on art
Someday I hope to become good enough to be able to make a living off my own creations

Hobby. I'm a software engineer. A software engineering job ruined my passion for programming. I don't want that to happen to my other hobbies.
the plan is to become a teacher one day and teach art or programming

same man, but I still would like to one day publish a comic. In the mean time I'm happy practicing with Loomis, Keys and youtube tutorials. I don't think I'll ever reach Kim Jun Gi level but it's satisfying looking at my sketchbooks and seeing progress.
I just want to draw breasts

Yes. But I also have ideas for things I want to draw and project goals in mind. Not for money but because drawing is fun for me and I love to create. Never as a job.
