I decided that I have to improve (or rather fix) my life in order to pursue art in the most efficient and healthy way.

>(i am) very skinny, mostly trash food, no physical exercises at all
>very messed up sleep pattern, no schedule to go with
>no discipline, a lot of procrastination with low hanging fruit

So I want to make it all better so I can become a good artist. Do you have any tips for anything I have mentioned?

Decide on a schedule.

Wake up, cook breakfast, workout, draw

(Look for a job)

Lunch

Dinner

Draw

Bed

There :)

Do little things first and build up, don't hype yourself to change everything at once and then fail because you set the bar too high.

Like drawing 10 minutes a day. Going to bed 1/2 earlier until you get to the bedtime you want. Exercising 20 min. per day. Eating a little less junk per day. Is your room clean and tidy? If not, clean up a little part of it each day.

Pick ONE and see if you can manage to stick with it for a couple weeks. Cleaning is pretty relaxing and meditative and might give you a clearer mindset going forward

Fix your life =/ Pursue art.

Do not mix the two together. It is a recipe for disaster. If you keep them separate, you won't have to add all your baggage into your art practice. Then your practice will be purely for art improvement and won't be weighed down by whatever life circumstances you're dealing with.

Except in reality you can't separate life and art. If you have serious issues like something really stressful - guess what, you can't draw.

I can't focus on art because I feel very bad, my health is bad, i am in a bad mood most of the time because of I can't get shit done. I still won't be able to fix everything, the worst and most crippling thing is still out of my reach but at least I'll fix minor stuff to become at least somewhat satisfied.

I kinda get what you're saying where your practice can become your sanctuary, but you can't escape biological reality of having a body that needs maintenance.

Your brain isn't just a separate entity in a jar closed off from everything else, it's fed by what you eat and affected by how you sleep. There's some interesting and relatively new research on how gut flora can affect mental health and mood as an example

Bit by bit is the best way forward I find. Might not feel like much progress at first, but if you steadily increase your rate/workload then eventually you'll be painting hours every day like the pros

put yourself in an environment that pushes you to improve.

I strongly reccomend listening to podcasts while working out, and only while working out. Either self improvement or art related ones. Makes doing cardio way more enjoyable

Sounds like me (or me on bad days/weeks)
I think for me the second I start to be indulgent I just crave indulgence more.
Like I had a "cheat day" from my diet the other day (i'm not skinny, im skinnyfat) and yesterday I went out and spent way to much money, I've almost given up on my diet even thought it was going really well and ive just made shitty choices graduatlly ever since.
Its a matter of upkeep, the second you slip you will slip farther, the second you start to climb back up you will get higher. It goes either way,
you can always go lower or higher, you just have to keep trying, always.

You should try skateboarding as an easy activity to help get you out of the house and exercising more. You don't even have to do tricks or anything you can get a cruiser board.

Since I started skateboarding it's gotten me out of the house so many times I otherwise would have decided to be lazy and stay in. It's super fun, is good exercise and it's a decent means of transportation. It makes for a really nice evening to skate to a distant coffee shop, draw for a while then skate home.

Pic related is the board I have if you're interested.

whatever you do don't lift my wrists and fingers are getting slowly fucked up to draw things that require precision , it's mostly fine when im sketching but when it comes to clean lines it's really shit compared to before i started lifting
>>
Whatever you do, I recommend taking 30 minutes-1 hour to do art BEFORE you start your day. Because what might end up happening is that you start working out, planning your meals, get a nice job, etc. and you still won't be doing art. Especially after you added so much to your life.
Remember that art isn't just drawing. Maybe you want to bob ross it and paint, maybe you want to scrapbook, learn 3D, learn an instrument/compose music, sculpt, customize figures/dolls, learn to sew/crafts, and the list goes on. It's okay to have an artistic outlet besides drawing if you feel like you don't have the motivation for it.

this is a terrible schedule. if you've ever worked out, you know you're gonna be hungry afterwards. it should be workout, shower, eat, then draw.

Write down in Youtube "Motivation" and listen to some inspiring speeches. Trust me, it helps.

Ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp2qjshr-r4

I listen to things like this every morning and every time I go to bed and I gotta tell you - it helps a lot. I haven't procrastinated or wasted time with anything and anyone unproductive for some time now.

terrible order

eating makes you sleepy because the stomach has to prepare the food for the intestines, and exercises is basically doing some movements until a small procent of the fibers which make up a muscle start breaking up (muscles grow after resting because teared fibers grow back, increasing in number like that) so after exercising should come rest

so best order if we consider just drawing, eating, resting and exercises it's

>rest
>draw
>exercise
>eat
>rest

>he doesn't lift
Bruh.
Lifting literally fixes your life. it forces you to eat better, sleep better, fixes your posture and inpires you to become better.
