I don't follow some artists on twitter because they talk a lot of bullshit, so I follow them on tumblr or instagram instead.

If I like an artist but can't stand their personality it does affect how I view their art, but I would probably just check in every month or so and see what they've been up to.

If they follow you and you are afraid to unfollow them, then just do it anyway. You are not going to talk, you are not going to have a miracle moment where they offer you work.

Yeah, this is why I don't use social media as a personal blog. My blogs are strictly for art. If I'm having a shit day, I'll just go troll nerds on /v/ anonymously.

I have irl friends whom I can confide in for personal stuff.

I've seen other artists do their whiny self pity rants on twitter and tumblr and shit, and it's genuinely annoying. So I took note of that, and opted to never do shit like that. I don't need pity from strangers, and honestly, it's just not professional at all.

Same as others here, I post only arts, no personal stuff.

If it's on Tumblr, download an extension that only whitelists their art posts (if they tag them).

Personally, I'm put off by artists who strip their blogs of any individuality. Unless they're absolutely pro-tier, personality helps make their art more memorable. But that's definitely a fine line to tread before you overshadow all the good qualities of your art, so I understand people who keep personal posting to a minimum.

The beauty of instagram is that you can follow your favorite artists without having to endure what they say. It's only images.

I now just look at their art instead of follow these types of artists.

On twitter, if someone keeps posting dumb shit, or retweeting shit I don't like, I will mute them from my front page, and add them to my private artist lists (like I have lists for porn artists, foreign artists, cartoonist, etc.). That way, I can go back to that list to see what they're up to. If you don't know how to do any of this, go to the FAQ on twitter. I have everyone I follow on some type of list, that way I can find them easily when I mute them lol.

OP again, i am an artist too and i don't mind when people need to relieve stress but when people spam many times(specially over 20 TIMESSS ON THE SAME DAY) and get angry at their followers because of the spamming. I just don't get why they can't make a separate venting/personal account where they post their vent art and/or vent texts.
