Animes is not a word

You also realize the word a-ni-me is short for animation and is written in katakana; an alphabet for borrowed words from foreign language, right?

And also a pro, it's amazing how fast Tia is though. Sure the show was probably in production for a year, but Tia did like how many pieces throughout each episode?

I'm not"naturally talented" and made two huge mistakes when I was younger.
1, symbol drawing ruined me
2, I gave up art when I was 16.
Started drawing again two years ago, and at least feel better.
Still shit at it.

>have 14 whole years to reach this level

THIS IS DOABLE IF I FOCUS
>>
>>3029487
You can draw this good by 25, if you really, really, really practice hard. I mean no life freak.

Some rare freaks like Toriyama could draw this well by that age. He did Dragon Ball or Dr. Slump somewhere in his early 20s. Complete beast.

And you'll also notice he uses perspective religiously. Coincidence? I think not.
>>
>>3029487
It's doable for anyone who's willing to put in the effort. Few people can say they've studied and practiced for 14 whole years.
>>
>>3029490
To be fair in nippon land it's pretty common for aspiring artists to draw well at sub 20, also outside of japan. Some people were just super dedicated early on and got shit done.

Don't primary schools everywhere have shit like that?

I mean I could imagine America not having art classes because it sounds too close to Communism but I'm speaking of ther rest of the world
>>
>>3029495
No doubt. I just through the number 25 there as an average. I have seen a lot of people learning to draw, and the honest truth is most people don't reach what I consider professional levels until their 30s.

There are exceptions and exceptional artists and lots of them are famous.

I wouldn't say my number of 25 etc. is statistically true, it's just a ballpark from the personal observations of a single person, me, so, take it with a grain of salt.

I have a close friend who became a world famous gallery artist by the age of... somethingteen, I think maybe 17 or 18.

Her deal wasn't so much that she was great, but PATIENT. If you're willing to spend the extra 30 hours on your painting compared to other people it doesn't matter how experienced you are.

Patience is worth more in the art world, and finishing what you start, than being able to draw just as well in only 3 hours instead of 30. At least, I think so.
>>
>>3029504
>If you're willing to spend the extra 30 hours on your painting compared to other people it doesn't matter how experienced you are.
Can you explain more about this?
>>
>>3029506
Yes, I can explain it with a single case.

Akiane Kramarik. Little girl spent 300 hours on a painting and it ends up looking as good as what an adult could do in 30 hours.

She painting religiously every single day as a child, spent unfathomable hours on every painting, and finished them.

Could paint like an adult by age 13.
>>
>>3029506

Continuing the explanation, art is basically just problem solving. Very little of art is having a steady hand.

So the more knowledge, practice, and experience you have, the faster you can get good results.

But if you're willing to spend an extra 30 hours to paint or draw something, you can get the same results. You just had to take the time to solve more problems, that you didn't already have experience with, or knowledge of.
>>
>>3029514
>But if you're willing to spend an extra 30 hours to paint or draw something, you can get the same results. You just had to take the time to solve more problems, that you didn't already have experience with, or knowledge of.
But is that possible to do without leaving the painting alone to go study for months? Is it really possible to solve problems and get better with a single painting just by trying to finish it?
>>
>>3029550
I'm not sure I understand this post. Are you asking whether it's possible to spend 30 hours on a piece?

That's about 4 days if you spend 8 hours on it each day.
>>
>>3029557
Sorry, I was referring to that quoted line and this
>Akiane Kramarik. Little girl spent 300 hours on a painting and it ends up looking as good as what an adult could do in 30 hours.
I was asking if she started from a low level of skill and accomplished a high level just by putting in more time i.e. 300 hours. Or if she worked on the painting from time to time that totaled 300 hours while also studying the other fundamentals of art like anatomy, lighting, and such.
>>
>>3029559
I think he meant that if you put 300 hours into one piece the actual end result will be indistinguishable from the work of someone who is very highly skilled, even if you are actually a low skilled amateur. Not that making that piece will actually improve your skills that much.

It's an idea I can sign with some reservations, I do think at low enough levels of skill it is very difficult for one to see where the faults in a piece are and spending more time is not going to help in that situation (unless you bring in feedback from other people with keener eyes, of course)
