great some social media accounts, and get a following. that's the surest way to get a flow of commissions. if you're a complete unknown, it's going to be very difficult getting commissions.

make an email for inquiries and a maybe a commission sheet for prices and examples.

1. Create social media accounts for like tumblr, twitter, instagram, etc., and post to Hentai Foundry (if you get featured there, you can get tons of exposure and new fans, which eventually creates more exposure).
2. put out as much (quality) content as possible (the more pics you publish, the more you'll be seen).
3. pander to popular fandoms (if you don't care about artistic integrity and you can't compensate with top notch art)
4. have quality art (yours probably needs some more anatomy and perspective/construction training, but you have decent gesture)

Another thing I wanted to add to anons post that has worked for me is making icons and fan art for lewd artists on Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter. They usually feature you and sometimes pay you. You're gonna be doing free work for a while, but if you can stomach MLP or furry stuff you'll make some cash starting out.

Also don't use a name connected to you - if you ever DO want to have a normal job or create regular artwork you'll be shit outta luck (usually.)

For now try making some fan art for a suicide girl to start with, one that isn't super famous, and send it to them not expecting anything. See if they post it, if they don't move on. I've done this with models on Instagram and some shibari artists as well, works pretty well - usually 50 followers each time. If you want to make money fast try offering banners and things to gone wild girls on Reddit, the ones with their own subs. Usually pays okay.

By lewd artists I mean photogs, models and people that are pretty IG famous who do soft core stuff of their OCs like Socolateh. Sorry for vague posting before!

Good luck OP.

How do you go about separating different names? I imagine that people will be able to connect the dots between accounts because of your art style. They already somehow do it with authors.

I didn't add this cause I think it's pathetic practice. But sure, if you want to get exposure and you don't want to look pathetic, kiss known artists' asses.

>and you don't want to look pathetic
meant to write and you don't care that you look pathetic

My experience is that people who tell you that you need perspective/anatomy lessons when you draw this well have no idea what they're talking about - which you already know because if you draw this well it means you will/do study anatomy, and perspective, and are probably always trying to improve.

The real answer to your question is build a body of work - it doesn't have to be lewd at all. I have a friend who is a gallery artist who started just doing pop surrealism portraits and she's well known.

What's actually important is that you FINISH your work, and have a portfolio, preferably of related stuff, and geared towards what you want to do or sell.

If you want to be a fine artist start making a gallery of paintings in a theme.

If you want to do comics, cartoons, or illustrations, make a portfolio of those - or in the case of comics, start your own is an option rather than working for someone else.

If you want to do concept art, build a portfolio that will help you land that job.

That's how you'll really make money as an artist. Make finished pieces and gear them towards a real job you want to do. Then start applying, or create a job for yourself by putting up commission ads or making your own book, comic, whatever. Whether online, in print, or both.

Social media advice from other people here is probably solid advice. And using a fake name is also good advice probably if you want to branch out and do other kinds of work later in life.
