I wouldn't say copyright but more or less, they get away with their shit the same way we in the west do "Paradoy" that being said JPN is a little more lax on it where if a big company like Disney caught you sell on model porn here they'd like sue and be petty.

JPN could offer better incentives to buying their doujins both digitally (like a discount on older or newer doujins in a series or by group) or physical with a special art or autograph from the artist.
