how do you stop autistically focusing on all the small details

just draw blobs, then fill in the details later

Zoom out so that your canvas is roughly half (or a little bit less than half) of your screen. That way you can literally only focus on the main forms of your composition/character. It was my own personal breakthrough. It'll feel awkward at first I assume since you're telling me you focus on details at first but just power through it for an hour and see the change in process.
