Don't. Getting a tat for the sake of it will be a mistake you regret for the rest of your life.

I had an idea for a tat based on someone else's design. I sat on that idea for two years - I knew that if I was still considering it after that long than it was something worth having.

hope you're not thinking "i can just remove it later if i don't like it" because removing a tattoo takes a very long time (months or years of regular sessions) not to mention it's excruciating painful (way, way more painful than getting a tattoo), and can easily cost several thousands of dollars

Anon is right. My first tattoo was a orca whale, just cause orcas are my favorite sea creature. I've always loved orcas and probably always will.

I suggest getting your favorite animal or a pretty flower or something like that. Just remember to keep it small and simple

Yes, that tattoo, and tattoos like it, are extremely common. They are almost as played out as the feather turning into a flock of birds.

Side note: I did a google image search for "cliched tattoo" and the first result was this masterpiece.

General advice to OP and everyone: Quotes are stupid. the only script I find acceptable is the names of children, the names of the dead, and the names of ships or military units. If you want some word (strength, honor, love) or some sentiment ("When one door closes, another opens"), then have the fucking creativity to find an image to convey it. People won't take the time to read your script anyway, but a picture can be read immediately. You want "Love" and "Hate"?. Heart with a dagger. John 3:16? Try the empty tomb with the stone rolled away. "Only God can judge me"? Ma'at weighing your soul against the Feather of Truth would be a good one. For any word, quote, or sentiment you wish to convey, I am certain you can think of at least a dozen images that can communicate it.
