Manga/comics exist primarily to tell a story. As long as the illustrations convey that story and some emotion to go along with it, then they're successful fulfilling their purpose even if every single frame isn't an "artistic masterpiece".

It's not like it's just the art, either. The dialogue in comics is hardly top tier literature, but it works because it's (ideally) written in a way where the illustrations and text compliment one another. Comics are their own sort of art form.

Toriyama would write and draw an entire chapter of Dragon Ball in two days, spending the rest of his week doing concept art for video games and models.

I always figured the most skillful manga artists were essential architects at heart.... but you'll see many mangaka just photocopy a building and trace it. It's not a legal problem if they own the photograph as well.

The best of japanese comic style is more dynamic, bordering on film style even though most of it copy the earlier generation artist styles creating incest child of japanese drawing styles and it has shitty fundamentals while the best western, particularly american comics display superior art, every panel well drawn and overall compostion completely suck in pacing and usually can't evoke action without relying on retarded Sound effects. The best of china has best of both worlds, but cant produce good, remarkable comics because of government control on entertainment.
koreans are good, on par with the japanese, but has the pacing problems of americans and artist usually go on hiatus to play mmo. Newer korean artists just publish comics online so they can still draw pages in netween games. Other asian countries are just readers. Pinoy artists are still cancer.

I had my first gig as a penciler for a comic earlier this year and man has my respect for comic book artists gone up. It's just way, WAY more work than I could possibly imagine. I've only done commissions before with a single or double characters.

Directly copy-pasted into their work and then maybe a little bit of inking on top of it. A photobash, as the name suggests, is a term out of concept art where you bash several photos together as a starting plate to work from.

Who's to say they won't end up murderers/rapists/pedophiles even without media influencing their actions? If they already have the mental capacity to do bad shit isn't it their own character that should be held accountable for their crimes? And if it's considered bad because there are people with the capacity to be any of those things, that could be "influenced" into those immoral acts by fictional media, is it really immoral for mentally healthy people to enjoy such media if they never even think to take action based on the fantasies?
