"A Boy and his Cat at the Ocean on a Cloudy Day"
Oil on canvas, painted with fingers.
I painted this piece in about five hours without really any direction of what I wanted to do. I just continuously mixed colors that seemed right and then used them until the whole work came together. I'm not a visual artist and I spend most of my time writing or browsing over at /lit/, but I thought I would try my hand at painting something abstract and avant garde.
Aside from critiquing my work above, which I appreciate, what is your creative process? Do you map everything to the tiniest detail? Do you just freefall and see where it takes you?

honestly, it looks like a kindergartner' art project. i'm not sure if that's what you were going for or not.

>five hours
how? A talented 5 years old could achieve similar results in about an hour
This must be a troll.
Wow... just wow. It belongs in a Museum of Modern Art DESU. Underappreciated work OP.
Unironically read the sticky

I don't understand. Is that supposed to be the kid's tongue? Why are they giants?
