I think he's a good start for total beginners because drawing like Jazza is a totally achievable goal. I know it's a bad way of holding the pen/pencil, but I can remember it being the only way that felt natural.
After drawing too much, the side of my top index knuckle would get extremely sore, and blister. Even now, after not drawing much in over 2 years, that area is somewhat swollen looking. Probably slight scar tissue or something.
