Why don't we try asking some good/succesful artists a question and post the result here?
The main problem with /ic/ is that it's full of shitters and the anonymity gives every opinion the same weight. That's why is also so hard to find something people here agree on.
Having a good artist help us just a bit might really make the difference. Of course, ask them something really important, not just some small shit.
Of course, majority of them won't even respond, but if we try with lots I'm sure someone will respond. Then we will post it here as a resource for other troubled d/ic/ks
>ask successful artist what he thinks of loomis
>what the fuck is loomis
Which ones do you want to try, OP? I'll send some out, but I don't have any questions either, so you'll need to provide those too.

How about we try to get Luke Mancini to stream again? We can ask questions on stream
>>2970224
>ask a question
>lol just draw a lot
what could you possibly ask them

If you actually get a good artist to interact with you, it's better to just ask for critique or VERY specific questions about their style or process
Maybe we can get some really good artist to come give critique here.

I was trying loomis today but feel useless if you know how to draw a head in various angles, should I read him anyway?

Dunno, thinking of going through artstation and select some artists that seem good enough. By asking a lot of them I'm sure that someone will actually give me a serious and useful answer.
The question is a bit complex to formulate but I want to ask them what kind of program or schedule to follow. What kind of books or exercises should I go through. Not exactly a quick or specific question, but by far the most useful for me.

As I said. Unfortunately on /ic/ I've seen a lot of different opinions about this. Some like Aguri's one year program are very heavy on construction, they are basically industrial design. Others just suggest life drawing sessions and a path closer to the "fine arts" one. Others a mix.
Of course, other anons might ask more specific questions, maybe about rendering or anatomy. Having the opinion of an actual pro is way more useful than having a bunch of anons calling everything a "meme"
With all due respect, but I see some problems with this.
Not to mention the obvious trolls and shit-posters, /ic/ is just incredibly fragmented. Every possible subject and point is argued upon, and even finding questions to ask is hard.
The thing is that if you want to know something from a pro, go and find it. There are enough who are open enough to share things. There are plenty of tutorials, blog-posts, videos, books, etc. out there. For any style, technique and subject you like. Just look it up. Make some effort.
Secondly, I'm sure if a pro answers some questions and it is posted here, it will be more than enough to argue about it. "Person X is not a pro, but a hack." "Do not listen to this person." "Shit taste." "Why do you take advice from x type of artist, that's not art." Etc.
There are pros lurking here. If you have a good, decent question, and you're serious about it, you'll get a decent answer.
I keep bugging pros about direction on the path to industrial design and good fundies but they universally either ignore me or tell me to fuck off.
Even questions like "what resources or communities do you recommend for one to use to learn fundies and become an industrial designer" get met with viscious rancor from huehues in FZD comment sections telling me to fuck off and stop being such a lazy sack of shit when there's apparently "so much free and good guidance already out there".

Nobody here (but you obviously) want's to do industrial design. Pause and think for a moment; Industrial design has nothing to do with FZD. FZD is for commercial entertainment design. Industrial design is pic related. You probably keep asking pros who are good at porn or whatever who have never broke out copic marker, talcum powder, and waxing pencils in their life to sketch an obscure >solution< to an existing problem we have with bicycles.
And you wonder why you are told to fuck off? That's the reason.

Eh? I just googled "industrial design concept art" and found a lot of good stuff. Seems like it is pretty thriving. Like >>2970443 says, you are probably asking the wrong people.
Anything that deals with 3d design, concept art and architecture uses it.
You all talk a lot for people that should be drawing
>>2970476
Well, just drawing from reference when your goal is drawing from imagination might not be very effective.
Going through hours and hours of pure geometry and industrial design might be just a waste of time and extremely tiring
Or might not, that's why some help would be very useful instead of just jumping blindly on something that might prove itself useless

I fall for every board meme

Honestly.... make a subreddit, and try to get a QA going. As much as I dislike the Reddit community, the site's format lends itself well to QA.
