I've never seen Intaglio discussed here before, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with it.
I took a semester of it and it was a lot of fun, but a bit exhausting.

It's really cool but like you said, tons of work. The amount of detail you can get is staggering. This is the only finished intaglio piece I've done.

since there are good ways to reproduce a drawing i dont really think there is much advantage of going through the process of engraving. get good at hatching first anyway. if you want varying line width, get a nib pen
Love it and the way it looks, did it in art school for one semester; too bad I don't have the means to do it anymore. Don't have a press.
I remember degreasing the copper plate with soy sauce before rolling the ink on it and printing. It worked like a charm.

I tried to do a few prints of Moebius, it was honestly amazing/rewarding despite how frustrating it is to get a single plate.
