So where do you get references for people in more conventional poses/situations? All the ones I found online are ones like pic related, they're good for study but not good for actually basing a drawing on.
I've been looking at cosplay photos because they're closer but I still wouldn't know where to find a reference for say how to draw someone sitting at a desk, reading a book, leaning on a wall waiting for someone, random real life things like that.

Look everywhere and make a habit of saving pictures you think are a good reference, which is almost anything that shows a human on it

I have a folder for that though, which is about 50 times bigger than my reference folder, maybe hundreds more I dunno
Personally I just use pictures I like, attempt to make the pose myself, then mix the two together to get what I want.
