Because realism forces you to learn art fundamentals first. Stylizing can often hide your flaws, which can lead you to stagnate. Nothing wrong with mostly drawing stylized stuff but you when study you should try and practice in a realistic style to really drive the concepts in your brain

Drawing skill is meaningless if you can't write. I thought that if I just learned to draw all these cute anime girls and scenarios would somehow come to life before my eyes. All I can do is create 3D shapes that resemble characters.

I feel like I could, but it would take way longer than what it should because I would have to double check perspective, anatomy, figure, etc before doing anything, and after only 30 minutes later I feel like I'm wasting my time and go back to studying from books/videos/practice

His personal work sucks and every drawing has the same neanderthal face-he doesn't even get into deep anatomy; there is little that separates Hampton's book from something like the "How to Draw Manga" series which also features superficial anatomy and construction whether they call it that or not. Anatomy and construction are tools that are clearly in use for every picture you've posted whether done well or not. Yes. Copying is fundamental to learning art. I've read a lot of biographies of highly skilled illustrators and a common theme is that they all started out by copying and imitating comic books etc. It's also how I learnt, and continue to learn. I'm a professional freelance artist for what it's worth.

Consider the distinction between copying and imitation. You want to do both. Copying is when you literally copy the shapes and lines from the art that inspires you. Again, what kind of loser do you have to be if you think this is the only reason to believe that talent exists? People can believe in things without using it as an excuse, you pathetic rat.

I do have talents, including math, language and musical ability. I have terrible work ethics, but despite that I got better grades than most of the people in my class throughout school and college, while doing only a fraction of the work that they did. The only thing that I had to put any effort into were classes that required rote memorization.
Saying that talent exists doesn't mean it's an on/off switch, or that it's impossible to get good without talent. It's like a bell curve. Most people are average, but can get good if they work hard enough. Some people are shit and can never become good, while others are very talented and improve at an exponential rate.

It's really not difficult to understand, and you'd have to be an absolute moron to believe all humans are clones with the same potential.

Except my brother loves sports and competition, while I hate it. I still lift weights and run, but that's mostly a quality of life issue, because my work and hobbies involve a lot of sitting.
