Are there any jobs where I can draw on the job?

You know, something where there's enough downtime that I can sneak in a few sketches here and there.
>>
I think being an artist lets you draw on the job.
>>

I'm not good enough to be paid, tho.
>>
I work by myself managing a used video game store for about 11 hours a day, four days a week. Usually I can squeeze at least 3 solid hours in of intermittent drawing during that period-though it's always broken up by certain things I have to do.

It should be paradise but there's probably better out there, the clientele for this kind of establishment can often be eccentric and/or annoying as hell and a lot of the time they're not even the people that buy shit. Most of the customers that just pass through are fine but I have a lot of Jay and Silent Bob types that are absolutely fucked up in one way or another (for example, one guy loiters in the store hours at a time just for the excuse to tell the same outrageous lies to random people over and over again and try and get me to watch unfunny faggots on youtube like "lost pause", holy fuck). The job would be perfect if people weren't fucking retarded or otherwise greasy pieces of shit but whoop, there it is.

Don't get me wrong though, quite a few of my customers are pretty cool but it doesn't take much to poison a well and they are all, as a matter of principal, the enemy of me and my gains.

I'm sure most people that work retail have a similar experiences in that regard. My advice would be to find something similar but less attractive to goofballs with nothing better to do.

Security positions. I'm at work right now and drawing.

What if you're a frail 5'4 fuccboi?
>>
I work in retail and draw whenever there are no customers.
>>
>>2929912
Military? Probably not the kind of job you're looking for, but it is an option. You get room & board, some downtime to draw, and hopefully a lot of opportunities to expand your visual libary.
>>
>>2930020
security for the most part is literally get paid to sit around and do nothing, not like you're a bouncer that actually has to scare people away. night shift security is best for not doing your job because literally nothing happens at night
>>
>>2930020
My mom is a security guard. You can do it too.
>>
>>2930034
Actually, I've been thinking about getting into the air force for a good while now. I may seem like a lazy fuck for asking about down time, but i do work hard if asked to.

I have no idea what job I should sign up for, through.
>>
>>2929912

Public sector administration jobs. AFAIK BeksiƄski worked in something like that, he was also part time drafter for bus company.
>>
>>2929912
Graveyard guard
>>
>>2929912
Network Management nightshifts are great for drawing. A few phone calls here and there but generally enough time to draw. Also weekend shifts.
>>
>>2930035
Everything happens at night here but I also work for a casino and there are strict laws in Iowa when it comes to alcohol consumption and casinos. Even then anyone could do the job and there's plenty of time to draw and fuck around.

How tall is your mom? I'm a small 100 pound 19 year old girl I think I'm too below the criteria

Dont listen to this asshole, i worked for G4S for a year and they would fire you on the spot if the caught you drawing on the job. I wasnt even allowed to talk to anyone and just stand around all day.
>duhhhh just dont get caught lol
They had cameras installed every where on the job site and watched your every move.

Find a job like pic related. You'll be set for life.
>>

Are these jobs easy to get? I see them all the time and my autistic bros recommend it. I'm reading the requirements for 1 position and it looks like even a monkey could do it and pay isn't bad.
>>
>>2930517
alot prefer military or police exp but its not necessary.
And not every security position has you sitting on your ass doing fuck all. Some are really stressful and make you follow strict rules where you have to deal with unruly customers on a daily basis others are more relaxed. Just a warning.
>>
>>2929914
gut gud then
>>
>>2929912
I'd say graveyard shifts are easiest pick.
My sister crochets between phone calls during her shifts but i don't know for sure how much time in between calls she gets

Considering on heading to the national guard.

Night shift at a pornshop

I just recently got hired doing remote data entry, as long as you can type fast (60 wpm minimum) follow directions and track your hours it's not bad work and I literally turn around and work on my art on the off hours.

Bad if you're a hermit though.
>>
>>2933999
W-why is it bad if you're a hermit
>>
>>2934000
The fact that all your needs could conceivably be delivered to you coupled with not having to leave your place to sustain yourself will reinforce your agoraphobia anon-kun.

If only for your sanity, go outside and take a walk, you can go right back inside when you're done.
>>
>>2934007
i could never work from home, too much distraction
>>
>>2934010
True, it's definitely something that takes discipline that not everybody has or wants at least for a day job.

Beats an office though, I hate small talk.
>>
>>2930174
If they have people watching the security guard, then what's the point of even having a security guard? Do they also have people watching the people watching the security guard or are those the ones who are able to fuck around on the job because no one watches them?

"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" is a Latin phrase found in the work of the Roman poet Juvenal. It is literally translated as "Who will guard the guards themselves?", though it is also known by variant translations most notably "Who watches the watchmen?"

Night shift Hotel receptionist,
Seriously 80% is time off. It fucks your sleep cycle if you had one.
>>
>>2936214
man that would be great, too bad no hotels in my area to do that.

if you find a not busy mcdonalds you can draw quite a bit, i fill a couple of pages most days im working in between sandwiches just need to figure out when to work them in. if you are a good worker otherwise (like really fast at making food ) they wont say anything about it because most of the people who work there dont do anything anyway and they will respect you for actually doing stuff. but it has to be a not very busy one .
>>
>>2936228
also its easy as shit job if you are a good sandwich maker.
>>
>>2936230
What if you're a shit sandwich maker.
>>
>>2936241
then you will be made fun of and put on the grill with no time to draw.
>>
>>2936243
well you could but your drawing may get greasy. but as long as you are in the grill area you have a lot of free time if you arent busy and your manager is on good terms with you.
>>
>>2930512
Except for the mute autist that sets off the alarm every morning
>>
>>2934020
My old supervisors were all old farts that have been working there for years and they sit in a control room full of cameras and watch everyone.

If they caught you falling asleep or fucking off, they will fire your ass.
>>
>>2936494
samefag here
And before any one questions that they could fire you for something like drawing on the job, yes they can because the site I worked was non-unionized placed.
You were at the mercy of the company. They could fire you whatever they wanted. Ive seen security guards get fired that were sick and couldnt come in, but the supervisors in charge forgot and thought they skipped out on work.
