Is it worth buying proko's courses? I keep reading books, and I ain't retaining or learning shit.

you don't just read them, you practice their teachings, nuggerbutter!
Proko's course has probably helped me remember more anatomical minutiae than anything else-it's probably the best money I've spent on art instruction so far to be honest, family. Still waiting for his FUCKING leg muscle videos though. Also I really wish he had an abridged version of his videos without the goofy jokes. I don't mind it a few times around but when you're watching the same video a dozen times or so they're even more insufferable than usual.
I really like his newer Anatomy in Motion videos in particular-probably better and more useful than his model photos.

Watch the free videos first.

It's just that, when I read these books, it feels like I'm not really learning, since it's not interactive.

you literally cannot get better without actual application and hands on practice anon

I mean, you're not wrong. I just feel like reading, and copying by drawing from these books aren't helping me. I'm just assuming it's because it's the way I'm learning.

Proko's courses are about as interactive as your art books so if it's the interactivity you're looking for, take a class somewhere.
