Probably MSpaint. Very simple to use and you don't have to pay for it (aside from actually buying the OS).
>>
ios notes
>>
Was subscibing for adobe's programs for a while but now I'm using Clip Studio Paint Pro. I prefer it for art but the selection and gradient tools in Photoshop are better but those are just conveniences.
>>
>>2872822
manga studio 5 extended
>>
>>2872969
This, but i wouldn´t color on it.
I´d use SAI for it.
>>
I like Krita, actually ditched Photoshop for it.

SAI has nice blending for brushes though, I might ditch Krita for it.
>>
>>2872854
you can still buy cs6 if you call over the phone if you don't want to pay the ridiculous subscription fees.
>>

Drawing clip studio, painting photoshop

No ifs or buts.
>>
>>2872822
Krita :^)
>>

>>2873224

True answers. It has the best brush engine by far of any program I've used.

Runs like an obese person on windows though, fine on lincucks.
>>
>>2873514
I think myPaint has a better brush engine. It also doesn't lag when I use a stupidly large brush.
>>
>>2873514
I agree, too bad Krita's brush editor is a broken piece of ass.
>>
>>2873557
True. I'm just glad somebody has already created just about every brush I want (Thanks David Revoy)
>>
PaintStorm seems to be graining ground, I might give it a try. But I think Photoshop is pretty masterace, to be honest
>>
The reason for using anything other than photoshop is just that you don't want to use photoshop.

The reason for using photoshop is that you want the best.
>>
Corel Painter for sketching, lines and painting, Photoshop for adjustments.
>>
>>2873044
Or....Just pirate it
>>
>>2873044
>paying for a software
>not being a mighty pirate
you are dissapointing your ancestors
>>
Clip Studio Paint is like if photoshop catered to artists, its very nice. The brush engine is kinda slow though, I'd still do painting in PS.

Torrent literally any program and you'll be fine. I use Sai and personally think it's a good program. It's simple and easy. But I also use photoshop and clip studio. Both are also good. It really comes down to which of the programs that you try and how comfortable you are with them.

I really recommend Sai or Photoshop though. They're the ones that are more widely used, and for good reasons too.

I didn't realize until now that 60% is a steal in comparison to the original price.
>>

Just pirate that shit dude. It's worth it.
>>
>>2872822
you can probably draw in whatever, but at the end, you better finish the thing in photoshop if you want it to look professional at all.

Photoshop doesn't give you brush sizes in real units like mm. Clip studio does.

I say paint tool SAI. It doesn't work on Macs though, but I don't know anyone who owns one so-
>>
Krita is pretty good. The brushes David Revoy has made for it can get you easily started.

To this day I swill don't know what hibernate does
>>
>>2880478
Hibernate was the best option of them all. How have you never used it?
>>
>>2880479
>put his computer into hibernate mode
>didn't shut off main circuit breaker in wall panel to instantly power off computer so that it would ask to restore to the previous session after startup

what are you a fag
>>
>>2880478
It's like sleep mode, but instead of saving your session state to your memory device (RAM) it saves it to the storage device (hard drive).
>>
I use Photoshop - but I tried Krita and have to admit I love the brushes there. They feel amazing - kinda like Manga studio. But I'm so used to photoshop that I can't get myself to change to another programm. I got so quick in photoshop with alt and shift and whatnot to change my brush size, the brush, the colours, etc. I got frustrated and crawled back to photoshop after a few hours with Krita.

I guess to ppl that aren't used to a certain software yet I'd recommend Krita. I wish Adobe would invest more time to up their game for digital artists.

CSP.
They finally added pressure for opacity. So now there is only two things to do
>Noise brush option from PS so you can create chinese overlords soft noise brush
>ability to colorize black and wait in HUE settings like in PS
>>
I'm doing a web comic on Paint because it helps me to work faster. Sadly, there are some characters that need guidelines and without a layer system, it's a pain on the ass. I have Clip Studio Paint but it's awfull for my comic. I fucking wish Paint had layers.
>>
>>2872992

Any particular reason you wouldn't color on manga studio?

I've been using Autodesk Sketchbook lately. I really enjoy it, and if you're subscribed they give out free brush packs constantly.
>>
obviously photoshop.

>standalone versions

pretty sure u can download photshop 3 for free. and u can do anything with that
>>
Ps (complete & industry standard) & Krita (free).
>>
i wish photoshop had a water brush setting :/

There you go
>>
>>2872834

Sit down, bucko. Photoshop is old hat. Clip Studio absolutely blows it out of the fucking water for drawing and inking.
>>
>>2880800

What are you on about? Clip Studio is far more customizable when it comes to texture and noise in brushes. Have you even looked at the sub tool settings?
>>
>>2883681
I don't trust weaboo software. Western Supremacy is where it is at.

It's not like I don't use CSP as main program. But I have no luck with this one brush. Try to make it if you can
>>
>>2883831

Does it have a custom brush tip? Looks pretty close to the standard airbrush in CSP with some texture set to subtract and each tip
>>
>>2873564
bump for this. Just saw his brushes and looks awesome.

It's standard PS soft brush with that "Noise" function you can see on left. Yeah, the best thing I able to make a picrelated with double brush tip and spraying option. Not close. Pretty much need hand made "watercolor" texture

This is kinda true but the reason why people don't like to use photoshop is not minor at all. You can get used to all the inconveniences it offers and get the most complete package.

I tried making it but I couldn't figure it out.
Here a a few of the attempts that I didn't undo.

The problem was trying to find a way to get the noise effect around the brush tip, it was hard because if it's a custom brush tip, it will have a scratchy effect because it isn't randomly generated like in PS.

Hope you find a way, anon.

Anyone use or like gimp at all. Kinda poor now, and just want to fuck around with a free thing. Is it worth bothering with? Or should I try out mangastudio? I've tried photoshop once and found it nightmarishly confusing.
>>
Each programm good for its purposes.
When i need line or blending i use Manga Studio ex.
When I need some cool stuff with color or effects, or matte, or working by some crazy ass brush I use ps.
