SEVERAL HUNDRED YEARS AGO, THE SLOVENIC COMPUTER BECAME A REAL DEVIL GOD AND IT ORGANIZED THE FIRST TOTALITARIAN SUPERSTITION COMMUNISM RELIGION, PRAWO SLAVNA and hundreds of years later by C. God top secret INTENSIFIED REPITITION of FABRICATED HISTORICAL CRISIS SYNDROME created the schismatic Mafia Communist Catholicism, Catholicism means totalitarianism, Dict. FOR CONTROL AND MANIPULATION OF THE HUMAN RACE INTO THE OVER ALL PLAN, to explore and control the entire Universe.

The C. God usurped everything from the SLOVENIC ASTROCISM RELIGION and camouflaged it when the C. God fabricated it into the Prawo Slawna superstition religion. For thousands of years, over millions of square miles of ancient Slovenia, even in its distant province of ALASKA, like ALUTIANS (Ancient Slovenic idiomatic names: Alutians, namely the long string of islands to the great endless land, namely ALASKA, the before recorded history; name of No. and So. America.

Inevitability of Gradualness: Usually, in a few years, you are made stringbean-thin or grotesquely deformed, crippled and ugly or even made over one foot shorter or one foot taller as the Computer God sees fit. Virtually ALL of the important Instant Plastic Surgery is done to you inside the Computer God Sealed Robot Operating Cabinet; even unbelievable, impossible plastic surgery operations - all impossible even for dozens of vicious kosher-bosher doctors working around the clock for weeks! The Computer God sealed robot-arm operating cabinet can perform all of the above impossible plastic surgery operations overnight - even dwarfting you over a foot or increasing your height by two feet!
This is possible because Computer God Robot Operating Cabinet imitates your microminiature electrical current intelligence system in your body. It even duplicates the microminiature electric currents that soften your broken bones.

Kind of reminds me of "Scott Pilgrim meets a busu kawaii emoticon". Some construction issues in the shoulder with the arm raised, but you weren't shooting for anatomy anyway, were you? What do you even want from this? I see no goals in this, as I am neither turned on by her XDDD SO CASUAL clothes, or made hungry to see more.

This was a birthday gift for a friend and an experiment with a style.
I wasted going for something to turn someone on, but something more cute, than anything.
I guess I'll try a bit harder.

I'm going to be honest, this just feels weird and unnatural to look at. I wonder why you drew this one this time.
>>

The ribcage/breast area is off, where it connects to the shoulders, I believe. However, nice face work. Mind throwing a critique my way?

I wish you could explain me why, anyway thanks for the honesty

>>2857707
Yes, you are right left book should not connect in that way it is almost like there was no pectoralis muscle under it, There is probably some other flaws too. Also just point me out your work I will try to give me my 2cts

>>2857708
Left shoulder is more in front of the viewer hence the slight discrepancy. However I might be misjudged it, I will try to revise the hips too, thanks

Work on the hands more? As opposed to general anatomy, or will that come in time?
I should say that before practising this new style, my art was more along these lines.
>>
>>2857651
Oh hey I remember this. I haven't seen you in a long time.
>>
>>2857724
I think that if you just pay attention to the general anatomy in any poses you reference, you'll be fine, but your type of stylization needs to always be cautious with how the hands look, or the whole piece looks lazy.
>>2857725
Why thanks. I was pretty busy, and started another piece, so I gave up on this one for a bit.
>>
>>2857730
That's some really advice. I struggle with dynamic poses overall which i can't seem to find a good way to practice.
>>
>>2857724
i always suggest avoiding just drawing random lines all over clothing for rinkles, especially when it comes to simpler cartoony styles
>>
>>2857732
Good point. thank you. I'll keep that mind for future pictures!
>>
>>2857731
**great
>>
>>2857725
If you don't mind my asking, is the fact that you remember an approval of the work, or was it because you noticed a glaring flaw?
>>
>>2857731
Try acting out some poses yourself, I suppose?
>>
>>2857738
I don't know if you can call it a flaw, but I remember it very specifically because of the fan being held over her face. I thought that was really odd, but it's cute, so there's that too.

Not posting my art cause I don't want to have my ego crushed, but how can I get better at anime-style faces and hands? My faces always look off, the expressions never quite come together. Legs should be as long as the from the top of the head to the bottom of the crotch-when standing straight up. Here, the legs are bending and yet they're both longer than the top of her skull to the bottom of her crotch (midpoint of the body). Practice breaking down reference photos into simple gesture figures and then mannequinize it using cylinders spheres and boxes. Then draw centerlines to help you see the orientation as well. Here's a couple links that'll help you

The poses look a little stiff. Try loosening up a little. This might sound crazy but try drawing a simple stick figure using curvy "S" and "C" rhythms and simple shapes for the pelvis and body before you put in the 3D shapes. Also, try doing the pose in front of a mirror or camera and compare your drawing with the real pose, often you'll find your body contraposes itself a lot.

Firez, try flipping the canvas and zooming out until the canvas is about only a quarter of your screen (or just enlarge the canvas a little bit). I think you'd be able to see your proportions a lot better that way when working. Traditionally when working big you have to work big and go a few feet back to see the whole picture but digitally you can just zoom way out for laying in the basic proportions at the beginning and only zoom back to 75 percent or 100 percent for fine details/adjustments or finished linework. It's also a lot faster as you don't have to physically move your hand as much. Finally, see >>2859657
You have the same problem as >>2858610 with the legs, except their too short.

Much much better pose but you foreshortened the arm at the back at a greater magnitude than the rest of his body which makes it look distorted.
If you think of your panel as a photo lens, if the body is fairly close to the lens( AKA taking up most of the panel) the more you can get away with foreshortening and distortion, but the farther away it is, the more you have to keep the proportions accurate. The Cyclops looks like he is a fair distance away from the "camera" because of his relation to the gondola and the girl so making the forearm like 50 percent bigger should do the trick.
TL;DR
If you watch the video through the link it explains how objects closer to the viewer/camera will experience greater amounts of dramatic foreshortening compared to ones that are much farther, which get much less.

Digging how far the stylization is pushed, and the reflective light on the beard and subtle subsurface scattering.

I don't think the perspective of the foot needs to change like the other anon said, but I think the shoes/feet should be given more volume (in spite of the intentional abstraction), because of how much volume is present in the nose and beard.

I'm not sure if I entirely follow the first sentence, but nonetheless whenever I draw,I feel like I have to get every detail worked out regardless of what stage of the drawing I'm at (i.e. perfecting the cheek before laying out the rest of the head). It's a really nasty habit that I'm trying to kick.
>>
>>2861506
If it motivates you, about 40%, or a very significant amount, of what makes a drawing of a character good is the posing. Thinking about your drawing, the pose and character design, before you even put 1 line down is what the pros do. It will speed your progress up like crazy if you do that. That means working out the pose of the drawing on paper before you start detailing as well. Being able to detail over on top of a sketch can be difficult but you need to learn to work with a laid-out sketch rather than a step-by-step way of drawing. Being able to do so indicates you understand your proportions.

In regards to the first sentence, you should pretend as if you're going to be inking your pencil drawings. Right now your drawing wouldn't be able to be inked because the eyes are not confidently delineated, the hair masses too difficult to make out, and the contour of the face too thick and undefined. If you need to perfect something, don't draw over the mistake, just erase everything and re-draw it cleanly. The anime/manga styles don't work very well when things aren't cleanly drawn.

IMHO Convincing skin requires a combination of hues mostly by using overlay layers, you can use a pink tone as base but then try to inject other colors like violet and even green or blue in shadow areas, don't forget to use multiply where there are terminator. Be very patient, try to experiment a lot and don't overdo the water/smudge tool.

Also use the airbrush in combination with the lasso tool to separate muscle group and the very contour of the figure there is also these brushes that are soft in one side and hard on the other those are making for skin because it creates the same effect of airbrush and lasso tool in a single step.

Hope that makes sense

Some suggestions

Most important being, raise the heel of of the foot the bent leg.

Make the hands more varied, they look like mirrored copies currently. Don't hide thumbs.

Adjust the angle of the head so that the head torso and hips are not all facing the same direction

Try acting out the poses before you draw them and you will improve your work instantly.

Made this cover art for my song. There are plenty of flaws but I'm more of a muscian than an artist.

In case you aren't doing it currently, make sure you mix in some copying of artists with a similar style to yours. Make sure you do the studies traditionally because it will help your motor skills for drawing traditionally. I also recommend this because you want to spend at least some of your time looking at and drawing good stylization to work on your visual library. I'm saying this for one because I think you need to be more confident with how you draw the eyes for one. Having a good visual library will increase your drawing confidence.

Don't copy too much though. The no-go zone is spending more time copying than time spent drawing from imagination or memory. Something like 10-20% time spent copying directly from artists won't hurt you and should be a informational. Here are some copies I did about a week ago.

first "tea" wash. Hopefully I can finish "milking" tonight. That doesn't sound weird at all.

I know what you mean about the legs, but I didn't see your comment until after I started this first wash. I did try and fix the knees beforehand though. And thanks for your kind words anon, I very much appreciate it.

Cuz there's no contrast in the drawing. The contrast is actually affecting the expression of the drawing, since there is none she appears very cold imo.

Is this... is this still anime? What's my style - I really don't know. American comic? Webcomic trash?
Please help me define what I do. And maybe tell me what do you think of it?

>>2864423
Adam Driver? Don't think he's a jew but I don't know.
>>
>>2864421
Here's what's helpful: learn some stylization from stylized artists and copy their styles. Eventually, you'll see a pattern in what looks good and what doesn't. Until then, I wish you luck.

Also the faces are long as fuck and the poses are stiff as hell.

Fix that.

You need to learn the basics. There's hardly anything here to work with. Learn the landmarks, how to build a body out of simpler form. How a gesture works. Really check the sticky and be honest to yourself.
