Let's all make our own influence map! Pic related is the template, I will share mine and am curious what other peoples influence are!

I take nuts and bolts from everyone that pops up on my feeds, really but these are the ones I keep going back to.
i think this is still pretty accurate, i actually made it a while ago

Gottfried Helnwein, Sam Wolfe Conelly, James Jean, Nihei, Phil Hale, Junji Ito, Allen Williams, Beksinski, Gregory Crewdson, H.P. Lovecraft, Dante, Stephen King, Dürer, Giger, WW1/ WW2 Photographs, Urban Exploration/ Abandoned Buildings

I have more work, but this is the only painting that is really into the direction I want to go and maybe my only work that I really like that I did. I am currently learning to do oil paint so I can make future paintings in oils.
>>2857394
thanks! nice influences and painting as well
>>2857394
You are my influence ven!
>>2857394
wow im anime desu but this is rare ; an /ic/ type i like , you must have good taste combined with experience.
see it's like normally western art finds itself on the ugly side (for me) as a favor to realism, whereas anime has a nice appeal but sadly doing supa serious stuff (SSS) just looks baby tried gundam, anime can never escape not being taken 100% seriously, but perhaps thts part of the charm?
so yeah keep doing what you're doing! i like the whole yin yang thing going on with her being the white element in a sea of black.
>>2856909
>sinix
loooooooool
>>2857264
Actually good and have good taste desu.
>>2857453
>regular faces are ugly
>giant bug-eyed noseless women are appealing
This is why weebs are hated on /ic/, just letting you know.
>>2857531
haha i hope you don't give critiques
I have an issue with these influence maps because I can't tell the difference between artists whose work I love (or just happen to like) and artists who actually influence my stylistic decisions or goals.
I've filled out like three different maps and still feel lost in what direction I want to go to.
>>2857572
That's why you make a bigger map.
>>2857124
i love you and you deserve good things happening to you (i was the person who posted the influence meem)
>>2857533
Doesn't matter what you call them, anime style faces are appealing.
>>2857194
>>2856909
okei pls no bully though
>>2857403
>>2857429
Thanks, this is super nice to hear.
>>2857453
I used to draw anime when I was very young, I still like very well done and also very cute anime drawings, but found that my love lies for mostly realistic work ( but not photorealism/hyperrealism ).
Do anime if you like it a lot, find the kind of anime that appeals to you the most to you, if you do it with passion you will become great at it and your work would even be liked by people who are not into anime. : D
>>2857264
do you have parkinsons or something? ive never seen anything so fucking sloppy
>>2857600
Really nice, where did you get inspiration for a piece like this?
>>2857530
why you talking shit about sinix mang
its more his approach to drawing that i like ( i wish he worked more on rendering his stuff more carefully, he actually has a really good eye for color)
just how he goes on about things is very interesting and ive been finding a lot of his tips pretty useful
if hes not a great artist hes at least a pretty good teacher/motivator in my book
>>2857608
theres a level in dishonored 2, called the royal conservatory thats full of plants and broken stuff and its the prettiest thing ive ever seen and that pretty much inspired this smeary thing
the concept art for dishonored/dishonored 2 are really big inspirations for me!
I can't say my work is very reflective of my inspirations or those who I admire.
Not that I'm anywhere close to any of my influences.
>>2857812
really cool influences. either way, id be super curious to see your work anon!
>>2857768
Is that Yoshitaka Amano x2? Not that I'd blame you.
>>2857832
my stuff's a bit of a mixed bag, not too sure how well my work reflects the people I admire. I made this for a progress thread, probably gives an idea.
>>2858183
ah, thanks for sharing! i remember seeing some of your stuff around. you made a lot of progress from 2015, just keep at it senpai
keeping knightposting alive
>>2858188
You bet, anon, and thanks.
>>2857997
I put in three of his pieces actually, I just had to
>>2857390
Your work is so reflective of your influences. I can tell who you are just by looking at your map. Good taste, by the way.
>>2858257
Yeah. thanks.
>>2858257
>doodle-tier artists like Togashi
>good
>>2858319
I meant Maasaki Yuasa more than anything else. I'm not too big of a Togashi fan.
>>2858319
pose werk
I didnt put much love into mine, but I think these are the main works
>>2858549
>someone from /rlg/ is a d/ic/k
>>2858551
shit, ive been found out for spending all my time crawling rather than arting
Here is mine.
>>2858647
Wow, I don't know a single one of these artists but I really like their work. Time to follow them.
I'm surprised I didn't see any kr0npr1nz or sakimichan yet. Does /ic/ not like them? Sorry, kind of new here
>>2858662
never heard of them, they look like shit tho
>>2858662
They're not very influential. They make a lot of money though.
>>2858662
They are kinda hated around here, personally I don't find them influential because the vast majority of their work is fanart.
>>2858662
stop baiting
ruan jia, yizheng ke,yuanyue chang, kelvin chan, ramon nunez, zezhou chen, mingchen shen
others i did't add that influence me are lin jen, antilous chao, wei wang, shawn li. dong wook shin, ye seul kang, crow god and robin ruan
>>2858662
No one can be this new
>>2858883
You're right, because there's no way someone would have specifically singled out those two artists if they were.
>>2858671
I've never seen Zezhou Chen or Crow God mentioned on ic, I also think they're really good.
>>2858912
I dig this, it's a very distinct taste.
>mirror's edge
my nigga
Mind sharing some work?
>>2858926
Thanks.
>sharing some work
Don't get me wrong, I want to, but I don't think posting my work on 4chan of all places is a good idea.
>>2858926
>distinct
That fag likes pretty typical concept art. You don't get more generic than Halo.
>>2859329
Well, so do I. And what I mean by distinct is that the entirety of the chosen images fall into a certain mood/narrative - big vast city/structures, kind of cold, impersonal world, a lonely protagonist/"man on a mission"...
>>2858183
How many hours a day?
>>2859422
the same amount of time it takes for your mom to make me cum
>>2857218
What the fuck dude I would pay big cash to have this hanged on my wall
>>2857600

I have so many influences some of which include:
Marilyn Manson
John Waters
Alejandro Jodrowsky
Ken Sugimori
Takashi Murakami
Naoko Takeuchi
Yoshiyuki Sadamoto
Yūsuke Kozaki
Ayami Kojima
Toshihiro Kawamoto
>>2861818

>>2859535
I thank you wholeheartedly! I never had the confidence in selling prints since I am not confident in my work, if you mind answering what price for my work would you think is suitable?
>>2862538
Free
>>2858024

>>2857533
who hurt you anon
who hurt you
>>2858662
>tfw had so much inspirational people
>ended up having frankenstein's monster art that needed a ton of tweaking
>lose them all
>finally stabilized
>>2862628
thanks a lot for the compliment! Yep you are right, her portraits are quite amazing have not really known much of her art. I will look into german expressionists, always looking for new inspiration
>>2857385
Toshi Yoshida. Apparently he's the son of Hiroshi Yoshida.
In no particular order.
Of course I love and admire Sargent, Leyendecker and Loomis like everyone else but these guys are the ones that inspire me to do art.
>>2864009
barf
>>2864009
why didn't you use the template?
>>2857218
That's amazing....Do u have a blog or anything?
